Elden Ring Nightreign reveals its release date
And available editions
Last year, FromSoftware promised that Elden Ring will not get any more DLCs after Shadow of the Erdtree. However, it’s difficult to leave The Lands Between behind. Late last year, the studio unveiled Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone spinoff set in the same world. As the year gets into full swing, FromSoftware has finally announced when the new game is coming.
Elden Ring Nightreign will premiere a new story for the franchise. As is tradition, the game’s story is mired in mystery. Prior to actually playing the game, it’s impossible to figure out what the plot will be about. However, the teasers are adamant that jolly cooperation is the way to go for the game.
Besides playing solo, players can team up with up to two other players to explore the Lands Between. Like a roguelite, each run consists of a three day-and-night cycle. All players have a limited time to explore the world, gain loot, and fight bosses. At the end of the third night, everyone converges to fight a terrifying Nightlord, one of the new bosses to fight in Nightreign.
Winning will, of course, count as a victory. However, a death will still grant players powerful relics to further customize future runs.
FromSoftware has now announced that the game will launch on May 30 for all major platforms.
Available editions
Elden Ring Nightreign will come in four packages. The standard edition will come with the base game and the “It’s Raining” gesture for preorders. The deluxe edition will come with the unannounced DLC, a digital artbook, and a mini soundtrack.
Meanwhile, the Seekers Edition, available only for the PlayStation 5, comes with a steelbook and the deluxe edition’s perks. Finally, the Collector’s Edition comes with a steelbook, a hardcover artbook, the digital soundtrack, eight Nightfarer cards, and a 25cm statue of Wylder.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia will also sell a 1:1 replica of the Helmet of Wylder. The company will produce only 9,999 pieces, available only through Bandai Namco’s online store.
