ASUS is bringing AI to the mainstream with the official launch of its 2025 Vivobook S lineup in the Philippines. Sleek, light, and powered by AI-ready chips from Snapdragon, Intel, and AMD, these Copilot+ PCs are built for multitaskers, creatives, and everyday warriors looking to do more—faster.

Vivobook S16 with Snapdragon: 32 hours of nonstop AI productivity

Leading the charge is the Vivobook S16 (S3607QA). It’s powered by the Snapdragon X platform and features a dedicated NPU capable of up to 45 TOPS, unlocking Copilot+ features like Recall, Click-to-Do, and real-time Copilot assistance.

Despite all that power, ASUS promises up to 32 hours of battery life in a slim and sturdy 1.59cm thin, 1.74kg light chassis with a military-grade finish in Matte Gray.

You’re also getting a 16-inch WQXGA (2.5K) 144Hz display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, Dolby Atmos speakers, and Snapdragon Sound support. Whether you’re editing video, binge-watching shows, or jumping between docs and calls, it’s a setup that’s both flexible and immersive.

ASUS Philippines says they’re not just introducing Copilot+ PCs — they’re aiming to lead the way. “We want to continue this legacy,” said Harrison Cheng, ASUS PH Business Development Manager, noting that the brand already holds 66% of the local Copilot+ PC market share for Q1 2025.

The S16 also comes bundled with ASUS-exclusive AI tools like StoryCube, Adaptive Dimming, and AI Noise Cancellation, alongside a Copilot key that launches the AI assistant in just one tap.

More options with Intel and AMD — still AI-powered

ASUS isn’t stopping with Snapdragon. The Vivobook S16 (S3607CA) offers a more traditional setup with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and up to 20 hours of battery life. Prefer something more compact? The Vivobook S14 (S3407CA) trims things down to 1.39kg, perfect for portability without losing AI muscle.

Microsoft gives up on the Copilot+ PC

The company is quietly stepping away from the branding.

The Copilot+ PC is finally coming to an end. After a few years of advertising the lineup as the next big thing, Microsoft is stepping away from the branding.

Through a new interview with Windows Central, Microsoft has confirmed that the company is slowly stepping back from the Copilot+ branding. Despite launching a series of new Surface PCs that fit the bill of such a brand, the company has not affixed any of these devices with the usual branding of the AI-infused series.

“These are not called Copilot+ PCs. They do meet all the requirements of our previous bar for what Copilot+ devices are. We still lean into the narrative around AI on the edge and being able to have a hybrid solution out there,” Microsoft Surface CVP Brett Ostrum said.

Now, the Copilot+ PC programs hasn’t been a massive success for Microsoft. For all the time that it’s been out in the market, the series hasn’t really made much of an impact. TOPS is still a difficult metric to measure. The Copilot button is still one of the most unusable buttons on a modern keyboard. Even worse, Recall, the lineup’s most highly touted feature, crashed and burned practically the same moment it came out because of privacy concerns.

Microsoft had a lot of hopes for the Copilot+ lineup. Prior to today’s deteriorating perceptions about AI, the lineup imagined a string of devices united with a focus on AI-supported performance. However, we know better today. At best, AI PCs provide moderately boosted performance without the need for top-of-the-line hardware. At worse, they’re a privacy nightmare that places an unnecessary burden on the entire industry.
