These days, we use technology in a number of different ways for our many different needs. It would only make sense that we’d need a machine that will cater to all our modern-day whims.

Acer’s Spin 5 may just be that machine.

Aside from the sleek metal body, powerful speakers, and touchscreen LCD, my favorite feature remain to be this special feature.

The Acer Spin 5 may look like your typical laptop

It’s equipped the latest Intel Core i5-8520U processor and an Intel Graphics 620 card. It runs on Windows 10 and has8GB of memory, and 256GB SSD.

But it’s called “Spin” for a reason

Yep, you can flip it…

… and reverse it.

Its 13.3-inch 1080p LCD is perfect for showing off things to a friend or presentations at work. There are two USB 3.0 ports, a USB-C, an HDMI port, an SD card reader, and even an audio port.

You can use it as a tablet

Great for binge-watching your shows — or your favorite tech channel. 😉 The speakers on this thing are always perfectly positioned, no matter what angle it’s in.are

… and even draw on it with the Acer pen!

It works seamlessly with this device! The Acer Active stylus has sensors which means you can draw with different stroke thickness, depending on how much pressure you apply. There’s also a “palm rejection” feature which assures undisturbed scribbling when the pen is on.

Best of all, you can share the whole experience with friends

The more the merrier!

Acer’s Spin 5 is one versatile device. Designed for your everyday hustle, this 360-degree notebook will adapt to your every need.

Yep, a definite all-around machine.

Samsung outs a gaming laptop with a hexa-core processor

Back to gaming for Samsung

Published

Just days after they announced a spirited return to the laptop biz, Samsung ups the stakes with a gaming laptop of their own. Taking off from last year’s Odyssey line, the Samsung Odyssey Z promises exemplary performance and worry-free cooling.

From the get-go, the Odyssey Z’s design philosophy screams gaming. As with other gaming notebooks today, Samsung pushed the keyboard way down in the laptop’s panel. In their case, it’s to make way for what it calls the Dynamic Spread Vapor Chamber.

The Chamber is Samsung’s variant of the vapor chamber cooling system. The Z AeroFlow Cooling Design aids this system by pushing cold air onto the processor and GPU. Further, it has Z Blade Blowers that expel the excessively hot air away from the laptop.

Under the hood, the 15-inch Odyssey Z’s silver chassis houses an eighth-generation, hexa-core Intel Core i7 Coffee Lake processor. It also rocks the first NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max-P GPU. It carries up to 16GB DDR4 for RAM, and up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD for internal storage.

The keyboard sports a trackpad where the number pad should be. Above this pad, you’ll find recording keys, perfect for recording gameplay.

The Odyssey Z reboots the previous Odyssey 15 laptop launched last year. The old powerhouse received only lukewarm reception at best. The new notebook hopes to push through a segment where every major laptop maker already has its hands on.

At this time, price and availability are still pending. However, the notebook is expected to go on sale in China and Korea next month with a more global release sometime in Q3 2018.

Dell G series gaming laptops start at only $749

Come with the latest graphics cards and processors!

Published

Dell’s Alienware lineup of gaming laptops rock the best specs inside the biggest bodies around, but what does that leave folks who simply want the best bang for their bucks?

That’s where Dell’s new G series comes in. It replaces the older Inspiron gaming lineup and infuses the latest tech from both Intel and NVIDIA.

The series is divided into three segments: G3, G5, and G7. The G3 starts at only US$ 749, while the G5 can be bought for as low as US$ 799 and the G7 goes for a starting price of US$ 849, depending on which configuration you choose.

Dell G3

Let’s begin with the G3. It’s clearly the entry-level option of the bunch, yet it offers competitive specs. You can fit it with either an 8th-generation Core i5 or i7 processor with an GTX 1050, 1050 Ti, or 1060 graphics chip and up to 16GB of memory. There’s a variety of SSD and HDD storage configurations and you can opt for a 15- or 17-inch screen size — both 1080p in resolution.

Dell G5

The G5 provides nearly the same setup with 8th-gen Intel CPUs and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1060 chip, but ups the ante with the choice of upgrading to a 4K display and adding a fingerprint reader for quicker logins. It also has Killer Networking for faster streaming and powerful stereo speakers.

Dell G7

Finally, the G7 delivers the best you can ask for with Intel’s 8th-generation Core i9 processor and up to GTX 1060 graphics. You can once again have a 15-inch 4K display and lots of SSD and HDD storage options. It comes in either white or black.

Availability depends per model and region, but all should be generally available beginning mid-April.
