Apple is officially classifying the iPod nano as vintage

Do you remember your first iPod? For most of us, Apple’s iPods were our first Apple device. However, because of the iPhone’s astronomic rise, Apple eventually stopped producing the nostalgic portable music players. Further marking the end of the iPod, Apple is officially classifying the iPod nano as vintage.

Reported by MacRumors, Apple is finally archiving the years-old iPod nano under its official vintage and obsolete lineups. The list features devices that have ceased selling for five years and more. Vintage products have stopped selling for exactly five years. Meanwhile, obsolete products have stopped selling for seven years.

The last iPod nano model debuted back in 2015. Since then, Apple stopped making the devices.

Compared to other iPod series, the iPad nano went through a lot more design variations. In essence, the series offered a more portable form factor for iPod fans. The series transitioned from the classic click-wheel days to the newer touchscreen days. Apart from the still-selling iPod touch, the iPod nano survived most of the other iPods’ culling.

Unfortunately, the iPod touch is officially bowing out of Apple’s active lineup. According to Apple’s classifications, vintage products will have a harder time going in for support or for repairs. Though iPod nano owners can still get their devices checked for repairs, the availability of components is now more of a mystery. Then, in two years’ time, the lineup will enter obsolete territory. Obsolete devices cannot receive official hardware support anymore.

Leather lovers, lo and behold!

Mujjo’s lineup of leather iPhone cases has just got a refresh for the iPhone 13 series. Following Apple’s ethos in designing its products, Mujjo subtly refined, polished, and improved its cases.

The new smartphone cases got their bottom neatly covered while still keeping the charging port and speakers open. And it now has a raised bezel around the rear camera that keeps the iPhone’s protruding lenses protected against scratches and other abrasive surfaces.

Like its previous cases, the new lineup still carries Mujjo’s defining features. Its leather still rises 1mm above the edge of the glass, and it’s still made from high-quality, full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather.

Its insides are lined by a Japanese microfiber with a sophisticated satin-like finish, and essential buttons are fully covered. More importantly, it still comes with a wallet that stores up to three bank or identification cards.

Price and availability

Mujjo’s leather cases for the iPhone 13 come in three colors: Signature Tan, Monaco Blue, and Low-key Black. Cases retail starting from USD 45 ranging up to USD 55, and EUR 45 to EUR 55 for European customers. And it will be available for purchase on Mujjo’s website.
