The Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026 keeps you entertained

Published

on

Prior to taking on this Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026 review, I have been content using my laptop for streaming sports or watching movies and series.

There hasn’t been a large-screen TV at my place since 2023. I just felt I didn’t need a TV at all. In my past life as a sports journalist, I did leverage such large screens for viewing live sports while working on my laptop for articles.

There was also a time way before where live-tweeting was huge. I had cable TV-tablet combo for that. And when I was still a football commentator, I watched matches on a TV to review, take down notes, draw formations, and prepare for my next gig.

That multiple-screen setup has been my go-to as I needed to view related news or browse stats on another space all while writing.

But life comes at you fast. I don’t even have an X/Twitter account anymore. I have likewise discontinued my cable TV subscription.

Streaming apps have become the more reasonable way to watch TV programs. You know, I just want to get all of my money’s worth too.

It’s all good. Those days are in the past. Nowadays, I just stream sports as a fan: without responsibility and with the constant urge to cheer for my favorite teams.

Having written all these, my initial musings with the Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026 is that it is still a difference-maker. It helps to helps to have a smart TV by your side… err, in front of you.

Great visuals

Right off the bat, Xiaomi’s latest home entertainment offering delivers great visuals with its 4K QLED display with motion smoothing technology.

Details are crisp, color is lively but not oversaturated, and there’s a certain level of immersion from the TV you can’t get from a cheap smartphone, tablet or laptop.

The TV boasts of 1.07 billion colors, 94% DCI-P3 color gamut, and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG.

Whatever picture mode you’re using, HDR10 helps amplify darker parts so they’re recognizable. This comes in handy especially for horror films or scenes at night.

Whether it’s watching my grand slam-seeking TNT Tropang 5G’s current PBA campaign, the (now concluded) NBA Finals, or browsing already available movies and series on Disney+, I can count on the Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026.

Filmmaker Mode

In addition, Filmmaker Mode is such a satisfying picture mode in a sense that I don’t have to think about tinkering with picture settings.

What this mode does is it tries to replicate how producers intended visuals to look like. I have selected this as the default picture mode.

Whatever I’m watching, be it horror thrillers like Alien: Romulus or just music videos from V-Pop sensations like MIN, I can just focus on watching.

The kid at heart in me would also watch more random episodes like Dug Days. And sometimes, when I feel I need an escape, I just watch hours-long city walkthroughs in 4K on YouTube so I can travel virtually to these places.

The visuals are complemented by dual speakers that support Dolby Audio & DTS:X. Audio sounds clear, crisp, loud, and of higher quality, again, compared to budget devices.

Whenever I’m not in the mood for watching, the TV can just double as a music player. I can just play podcasts while working on other tasks as well.

You can also customize how the audio comes out to your liking, if you want it heavy on the bass or just a good balance of highs and lows.

Easy setup

I opted for the 55-inch variant as it fits my space well. But that’s only because the TV A Pro 2026 models come with dual-stands and my TV rack is just about four feet long.

If the stand is located at the middle part, I would have opted for a 65-inch or even a 75-inch model. No matter the size, Xiaomi’s latest TVs offer the same picture quality and 4K resolution.

Anyway, the TV comes in a simple unibody design, a metallic frame, and an ultra-thin bezel look.

It’s a great fit for living rooms, like my TV rack that’s in between two shelves full of Funko Pops and sports memorabilia.

Once you have the TV in place, all you need to do is to configure it with a smartphone. The setup takes just about a few minutes, then the TV is ready for your entertainment needs.

Everything on one screen

Another aspect I enjoy about the Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026 is since it runs on the Google TV OS, everything is on one screen.

When you turn it on, all of the popular apps are readily available from that home screen.

It’s a simple and easy-to-navigate interface. As a colleague pointed out, the UI already looks a lot better from previous iterations.

It’s likewise quicker for me to go through different apps like Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, or even local ones like CignalPlay and Pilipinas Live.

I have also rearranged them according to how frequent I watch on each platform.

Easy controls

Moreover, for controls, you can either use a remote, or just connect the TV to your smartphone via Bluetooth and just open the Google TV app.

But the remote is likewise connected via Bluetooth so you don’t have to literally be in front of the TV to switch between apps or navigate the interface.

Moreover, the TV A Pro 2026 still supports Google Cast, Miracast, Apple AirPlay, should you need it for such scenarios.

There’s also a built-in Google Assistant, so if you’re lazy to type with the remote, you can easily voice out what you want to watch.

But again, having it connected to your smartphone will allow you to easily key in what you want to watch on YouTube or streaming apps.

Or, you can search first on the YouTube app and just whip the content onto the TV with a press.

Of course, as it is a smart TV, it runs on Wi-Fi directly. In the past, I used to get angry with cable TV as the feed will stutter or hang when there is a sudden downpour.

Being in a tropical country, if you want uninterrupted entertainment, especially for live sports, it does pay off to invest in such a product.

Also for gaming, more scenarios

One aspect of the Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026 I have not utilized is its capabilities for gaming. I simply do not have that much time for console games.

But in case you’re wondering, the TV has three HDMI ports, so you can utilize it for gaming setups. Xiaomi says Game Boost mode allows you to game smoothly and steadily at 120fps.

Obviously, for schools or small offices, you can also leverage the TV for presentations, film viewing, and everything in between.

Keeps you entertained

Nowadays, you can get a large smart TV at an affordable price. But not all are created equal. If you don’t know where to look, the Xiaomi TV A Pro 2026 brings excellent value for money.

For its price range, this Google TV-ready offering delivers great visuals to satisfy your cravings for entertainment. It’s also built for modern-day setups with an easy-to-navigate UI and user friendly controls.

All in all, this offering has helped me live life a little more again. Whatever this year or life in general may still bring, I’ve got a TV to keep me glued, distracted, and entertained from all that.

It’s not much, but it’s a reminder that there’s still some goodness to life. And in most cases, it’s more than enough.
