As the first-ever Swift Explorers Singapore is progressing to its next phase, the program marked a milestone which saw students showcase their creative app concepts during their graduation ceremony at Crescent Girls’ School.

SES is a seven-month-long development initiative organized by Crescent Girls’ School and Tinkercademy that imparts digital literacy skills to primary and secondary students while letting them learn coding in a fun and educational manner using Swift, Apple’s proprietary coding language.

Later this year, the 20 finalists will present the apps they have created using Swift and iPad. For now, here’s a rundown of just how creative the students got with their app ideas, making us feel that the future of coding is in good hands.

Raffles Girls’ School: Navigation for the elderly

The Raffles Girls’ School’s secondary students group deisgned SimpleNav, a navigation app meant to address the needs of the elderly. The app will provide the simplest directions for elderly people to be guided to their destination using the safest route.

Methodist Girls’ School: Stress-relieving app

For those who are stressed mentally, the Methodist Girls’ School’s representatives designed Rirakkusu, which provides stress-relieving entertainment and media, such as games and music, all available via the app.

Crescent Girls’ School: Elderly journal

The Crescent Girls’ School team, meanwhile, created Elderly Care, an app that aims to help caretakers manage their elderly clients’ daily life, so they won’t miss out on reminders such as drinking medicine and so on. The app also has a journal feature for everything to be recorded and for memories to be created.

Victoria Junior College: Take your meds on time

Similar to Elderly Care, Victoria Junior College developed Medit which will remind patients, particularly those who are suffering from chronic illnesses who might have several different medicines to take for a period, to take them regularly and on time.

Chongzheng Primary School: Giving PWD a voice

Lastly, Chongzheng Primary School’s students built Comment On specifically for Persons with Disabilities and their caregivers for them to be able to give constructive feedback about any public place. If a place gives a difficulty for them to move, then the comment definitely helps in making the place or area more suitable for physically challenged individuals.

Flagship Find

The OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro are the next line of smartphones equipped with MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9500 SoC based on a powerful and power-efficient 3nm process.

Much like its closest cousins, the base and Pro models of the Find X9 differ in certain aspects.

First and foremost, the Pro has the bigger 6.78-inch display. Meanwhile, the vanilla variant has a “more compact” 6.59-inch.

OPPO says though that both units boast an ultra-thin 1.15mm symmetrical bezels on all sides.

Moreover, battery capacities are also different.

The Find X9 has 7025mAh while the Find X9 Pro possess a larger 7500mAh battery.

These phones are expected to run the all-new ColorOS 16 with primary focus on silky-smooth animation, as well as smarter AI feats, seamless connectivity between PCs, Macs, and other accessories, as well as band overall user experience.

Hasselblad Legacy

Different from what OnePlus is doing, OPPO continues to strengthen its partnership with the renowned Swedish camera-maker Hasselblad.

With this continuous collaboration, both the Find X9 and X9 Pro feature the Hasselblad Camera System alongside OPPO’s all-new LUMO Image Engine.

Furthermore, the Find X9 Pro offers a 200MP telephoto camera co-developed with Hasselblad — both in sensor calibration and optical design.

Additionally, these Find models also deliver exceptional video capabilities with up to 4K / 120fps Dolby Vision support as well as LOG recording with ACES support for that seamless and professional workflow.

The Find X9 series are also concert-ready with cutting-edge telephoto optimizations such as Stage Mode and AI Sound Focus.

Sony’s mobile motion capture system, mocopi, is coming to Singapore

Full-body motion tracking with compatible smartphone or PC

Published

on

Sony has announced the launch of its mobile motion capture system, mocopi (QM-SS1) in Singapore.

With small and lightweight sensors and dedicated apps available for iOS, Android, and Windows, mocopi enables full-body motion tracking using Sony’s proprietary technologies.

Users can track movements indoors or head outdoors and create own 3D motion content wherever they go.

The small and sleek sensors are driven by Sony’s unique, proprietary algorithm. They fit comfortably on various parts of one’s body. And all users need are compatible smartphones and the mocopi app.

The end-to-end process includes creation, motion data-logging, recording, saving, and finally, transferring.

On the app, users can simply pair the sensors with their phone. Then, after putting sensors on parts like their wrists, ankles, hip, and head, users will only have to calibrate them.

With this system, it’s easier than ever for users to produce content they desire.

In addition, there’s also a mocopi PC app to deliver seamless and efficient motion capture experience for 3D content creators.

They can record in FBX format, in addition to BVH format. Motion data can be synchronized with external data like facial capture or video by adding timecode from time code generators and NTP.

Sony mocopi demo, experience

Starting October 31, Sony Stores in Singapore will feature a dedicated mocopi demo unit. Visitors can dive into the future of engaging and dynamic content creation with the in-store demo.

Furthermore, the Sony Store at 313@somerset lets visitors explore the mocopi Experience Zone. This is designed for creators who want to dive deeper into what mocopi can do.

They can get hands-on with the suite of advanced programs, including the PC app and XYN Motion Studio. This will allow participants to witness how the motion capture system integrates into professional workflows.

mocopi will be available in Singapore from November 2025 for SG$ 599.
