vivo V23 series now in the Philippines

Without the ‘Pro’ though

Published

on

The vivo V23 series has landed in the Philippines but it’s a different set than what  was announced elsewhere in the world. While most other countries were blessed with the “Pro” version, the Philippines gets the “e” instead. The set the country is getting includes the vivo V23 5G and the vivo V23e 5G.

There’s no reason to feel slighted though. Both the vivo V23 5G and vivo V23e 5G are still expected to deliver in the area that the V-Series excels in — mobile photography.

Here are the camera specs of both phones:

Vivo V23 5G Vivo V23e 5G
Main (Wide) 64MP f/1.9 50MP f/1.8
Ultra wide angle 8MP f/2.2 8MP f/2.2
Macro 2MP f/2.4 2MP f/2.4
Front facing camera 50MP f/2.0 (wide)

8MP f/2.3 (ultra wide)

44MP f/2.0

It already looks like a banger on paper. But we’ve taken the vivo V23 5G for a spin and we’re impressed with the results. It’s also important to note the emphasis they are putting on the front facing camera.

The V23 series has pairs its 50MP AF front camera with an 8MP super wide-angle camera to expand its selfie shooting scenarios. So, whether you’d like to get more people in the selfie or just want to capture more of your background, you can do so.

There’s also the new Natural Portrait feature. It addresses many selfie needs with its optional beautification effects. AI algorithms can enhance face details, as well as any potential dual-tone spotlight elements. Low-light night portraits are taken to the next level with the Super Wide-Angle Night Portrait mode.

At least, that’s the case with the vivo V23 5G. The vivo V23e 5G is no slouch in that department with its 44MP shooter.

BYD’s high-end brand Denza launches in the Philippines

The debut starts with the Denza D9, a full-size MPV.

The BYD family in the Philippines just got bigger. After testing the waters and succeeding gracefully with the main brand, the Chinese automotive company is bringing in a new brand to the country: Denza.

Denza started off as a brand co-owned by both BYD and Mercedes-Benz (then known as Daimler). BYD’s meteoric success eventually led to Denza’s concurrent rise as well. Eventually, Mercedes-Benz relinquished all but 10 percent of the brand’s total shares to BYD in 2021. Then, in 2024, the German company withdrew entirely, leading to Denza being completely owned by BYD today.

The brand is known for delivering high-end PHEVs to several markets, which now includes the Philippines. The stint will start off with its ever-popular full-size MPV, the Denza D9.

Introducing the Denza D9

Prior to today’s launch, I already saw the Denza D9 plowing through the streets. The sizable MPV already made quite an impression, to say the least.

Up close, the Denza D9 has a bold front fascia, exuding modern elegance and sleek body lines.

Inside, the car prioritizes comfort for all passengers with luxurious captain seats. Those seats feature a ten-way electric adjustment six-way adjustable headrests, and leg rests. They also come with seat ventilation to get through an intensely sunny day. Finally, each seat comes its own LED panel for maximum control.

The DiSus system keeps the car balanced throughout any situation. The drive will remain comfortable even during high-speed cornering, full-throttle acceleration, and sudden braking. It will also come with nine airbags to keep all passengers protected.

Price, availability

The Denza D9 is available now in Cosmos Black, Arctic White, Whale Sea Blue, and Starry Sky Grey. It will cost PhP 4,298,000.

Additionally, the MPV will have an exclusive premiere price of PhP 3,998,000 for the first 300 customers.

TECNO resurrects modular phones with this new concept

Lets you snap on extra cameras, longer power, and more

Just like the brand’s ethos, TECNO really stops at nothing. From the last tri-foldable concept of 2025, they are also resurrecting the modular phone design — a once imagined “future of mobile phones.”

Dubbed as the Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, it could re-shape the way we think about smartphones from 2026 and beyond.

Thinnest modular concept

Just like motorola’s defunct Moto Z line with moto mods from almost ten years ago, TECNO’s modular system uses magnetic attachment plus pogo-pin connectors for power delivery. Data transfers wirelessly (via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and even 5G mmWave), so everything pairs almost instantly when you snap a module into place.

The brand says this is its answer to growing AI and performance demands — that without making phones thicker and bulkier.

Surprisingly, it’s oh-so thin as well! The base phone is just 4.9mm. Meanwhile, the modular Power Bank is 4.5mm. When combined, it’s still comparable to thickness of conventional smartphones.

TECNO will showcase around ten (10) modules in this concept ecosystem. Some of those include a power bank, action camera, even a telephoto lens module wasn’t missed out.

That particular module can work as a standalone imaging system. All while using the phone’s display as a viewfinder with low-latency preview.

Moreover, TECNO is presenting two flavors for this concept:

  • ATOM edition — Clean silver aluminum with subtle red accents

  • MODA edition — A bolder, geek-inspired look

Both keep the glass back and modular alignment zones, which subtly guide where accessories snap into place.

MWC-ready

As mentioned, this is just a concept, not a retail-ready device (just yet). But, the bigger picture is clear: TECNO went back to the drawing board by re-thinking the former modular ecosystem of the yesteryears.

This new modular concept could eventually support AI tools, storage expansion, and lifestyle accessories in the long run. If you’re heading to Barcelona, Spain for MWC 2026 (March 2-5, 2026), you can visit TECNO’s booth at Hall 7, Stand 7A40.
