Acer unleashes Predator Orion 9000 gaming PC and X35 monitor
Whenever Acer announces a pack of Predator machines at a major event, expect a couple of powerhouses. For IFA 2017, we have the Predator Orion 9000 gaming desktop PC and Predator X35 gaming monitor.
Predator Orion 9000
Here’s a good example of looks that could kill. Opting for the blue aesthetic last seen on the Predator Triton 700, the Orion 9000 is nothing short of intimidating with its tall stance. The RGB lighting on the sides are customizable, and the window panel reveals all its guts.
This being a desktop PC, configurations are numerous. The most souped-up version you can order has Intel’s Core i9 Extreme Edition 18-core processor and up to 128GB of quad-channel DDR4 memory. Couple that with support for up to four AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics cards at once or two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti cards in SLI, and you have a monster that’ll run high-end games for years to come.
Obviously, you’ll need to keep the temperatures in check, so Acer employed liquid cooling and an airflow system called IceTunnel 2.0. The latter ensures that each zone of the tower receives proper ventilation through tunnels and metal mesh panels.
Consumers in North America can purchase the Orion 9000 beginning December. Pricing starts at US$ 1,999, or EUR 1,999 for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
Predator X35
What’s a gaming rig without a suitable monitor to show off all the wonderful graphics? Acer kept that in mind while creating the Predator X35.
It’s massive for a monitor at 35 inches, and it comes with a perfect curve for its 21:9 aspect ratio. You’re clearly getting a fitting resolution, as well — 3440 x 1440 pixels to be exact. And to ensure your games won’t experience any stuttering or tearing, NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology is on board to control the super-fast 200Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time.
A behemoth like this would surely command an equally premium price. Unfortunately, Acer hasn’t shared that information yet. All we know is it’ll be available by the first quarter of 2018, so you have time to save up for whatever price it commands.
