NVIDIA showcases 65-inch 4K 120Hz HDR display with G-SYNC

NVIDIA has created a new product segment called Big Format Gaming Display, or BFGD for short. As you’d expect, these are seriously large screens built for gaming.

How big? The current specifications say these displays are 65 inches in size with a 4K resolution and HDR compatibility. There are currently three brands on board this project, namely Acer, ASUS, and HP.

Since NVIDIA conceived this technology, G-SYNC is built in, as well. This ensures that no stuttering or tearing happens during intense gaming sessions. This is important, since you could easily spot poor performance on a screen this large. NVIDIA’s Shield streaming tech will also be part of the package.

To top it all off, the displays can run at 120Hz, which is double the 60Hz refresh rate found in the majority of non-gaming monitors today. With all these features integrated into a single product, we can only imagine how expensive they’ll get (none of the brands mentioned pricing yet).

And because this is getting shown off at CES 2018, there’s has to be some sort of AI assistant inside. In this case, it’s Google Assistant. The entire interface can supposedly be controlled using your voice. We’re curious to see how that will pan out.

It’s only the beginning of the year, so we’re hopeful that one of the three PC manufacturers will deliver this tech within the next twelve months.

LG has not only dared to venture into connected kitchen technology, they’ve taken it a step further with their newest smart appliances. We got to see all this at CES.

The InstaView ThinQ is the fridge of the future. It’s equipped with the smart voice assistant Alexa which means you will be able to talk to it — the better to figure out what you want to eat! Not only that, it will suggest recipes depending on what food items you have stored. The best part is that it can be connected to your phone and all your other smart appliances for a seamless everyday home experience.
