Apple Watch Series 3 already has a major flaw

Apple’s latest smartwatch, the Watch Series 3, officially hit the market today, but it’s experiencing problems out of the gate.

As reported by Time and multiple media outlets, the Watch Series 3 is having issues with its LTE connectivity, which is the primary feature that sets it apart from previous models.

The defect lies in the watch’s inability to secure a stable cellular connection. Apple has already acknowledged the concerns saying that “unauthenticated Wi-Fi wireless networks without connectivity” is the cause.

This means the Watch Series 3 can’t connect to the cellular network it’s supposed to reach, and instead communicates with other lines. According to the same source, Apple claims they’re “investigating a fix for a future software release.”

That doesn’t sound very convincing, but that should be enough reason to stay away from buying a unit before the bugs get ironed out.

If you must own Apple’s newest smartwatch, you can also opt for the non-LTE version. It won’t let you completely let go of your smartphone, however.

This bit of bad news goes along with other recent negative press for Apple, such as the strange settings of iOS 11’s new Control Center, reports of the iPhone X experiencing delays in mass production, and the somewhat infamous #FaceIDFail.
