Chris Evans: iPhone 6s is better than iPhone 12 Pro
Calls the new iPhone too heavy
America’s ass thinks today’s iPhones are just ass. Recently, Chris Evans traded his iPhone 6S for a newer iPhone 12 Pro. Unfortunately, the Hollywood actor has a few issues with his new phone.
Extremely vocal on his social media, Evans is not one to hide his preference for older technology. The actor was well known for hanging on to an iPhone 6S in today’s age of ever-evolving smartphones. However, technology always has an expiration date, leading his decision to trade his old phone for the iPhone 12 series.
Speaking to Collider during an interview for his latest movie, The Gray Man, Evans expressed how much he missed his old phone. He also expressed two frustrations with his old phone: its heft and its lack of a home button.
Of course, Evans’s first pain point shouldn’t come off as a surprise. Smartphones today are only getting bigger, obviously resulting in heavier devices. Evans even laments that he has to use his pinky finger as a brace (which causes lines to appear on the finger, as his co-star Ana de Armas pointed out).
Besides an increase in heft, the departure of the home button is another problem for several users. Smartphones are extending their screens from edge to edge. The largeness leaves little room for a chin and much less for a home button. If you’re more used to a physical button, a haptic screen doesn’t offer the same sensations.
As you might imagine, Evans just wants his old devices to work again. While it’s highly unlikely that Apple will change things, Evans’s voice is a healthy addition to a significant chunk of the population who prefer older form factors to newer ones.

Android now supports AirDrop!
For years, there was an insurmountable wall between Apple and Android. One ecosystem’s features were constantly unavailable on another’s. However, times are changing. Previously, Apple started supporting RCS messaging, bridging the messaging between the two platforms. Now, Android is getting support for an even major iOS-only feature: AirDrop.
In a world where file sizes keep getting bigger, efficient file sharing services, such as AirDrop, are invaluable. AirDrop allows iOS users within proximity to share files seamlessly with one another. Technically, Android has its own version called Quick Share. However, the feature did not work with AirDrop, creating another rift between the two platforms.
Today, Android has dropped a surprise feature. Quick Share is now compatible with AirDrop. For now, the feature will start with the Pixel 10 series. But Google hopes to roll it out for other devices in the future.
To enable interoperability between the two platforms, the receiver, regardless of Android or iOS, must set their visibility to “everyone for 10 minutes,” meaning including those outside of their contact list. For those who are conscious about security, Android says that the feature will use the Rust programming language to ensure that security remains a priority.
Unlike the vocal spate for RCS messaging, there hasn’t been a comparatively huge clamor for AirDrop on Android. Everyone just seems to take it as granted. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s not a welcome feature. Despite being a complete surprise, it’s a huge boon for Android users with a lot of friends on iOS.
