Dell revamps the XPS lineup with more AI
Power and size aren’t the only things getting improvements in laptops. Much like a lot of devices today, the segment is getting a healthy infusion of AI. Following this trend, Dell is updating its XPS lineup with more AI features, power, and a lither body.
At CES 2024, Dell is releasing a trio of new laptops for busybodies and gamers alike. Coming in three different sizes, the new lineup consists of the XPS 16, XPS 14, and the XPS 13 (a revamped version of the XPS 13 Plus).
The new XPS lineup prioritizes both design and power. It comes in durable CNC aluminum, Gorilla Glass 3, and tone-on-tone colors (particularly, Graphite and Platinum).
Don’t let the minimalist design fool you, though. The XPS lineup is just as capable. The series will tout the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and up to the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. The InfinityEdge display puts out brilliant images, regardless of which size you choose. The laptop also supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and 3D stereo surround sound.
For AI, the XPS lineup leverages the Intel Core Ultra’s built-in AI acceleration engine but also packs in a neural processing unit. Instead of using just raw power, the laptops can use AI to know how much power to give depending on usage. It will also help preserve battery life. Plus, even when the devices run out of juice, ExpressCharge can juice up the battery to 80 percent in just an hour.
All laptops in the lineup will be available soon. The XPS 13 starts at US$ 1,299. The XPS 14 starts at US$ 1,699. Finally, the XPS 16 starts at US$ 1,899.
