How a low-impact workout can turn your resolution into a habit

Indoor rowing is more approachable than you think

Published

The best fitness habits are the ones that challenge your body without breaking it down. That’s why low-impact workouts tend to stick — they are effective yet kind to your body. They don’t leave you dreading the next session.

One of the most underrated examples of this is indoor rowing. If it’s something you’ve only seen at the gym, or never tried at all, then you’re in for a treat.

The machine can look intimidating but you’ll be surprised how approachable the workout actually is. And when you bring a rowing machine into your home, it can easily be a part of your daily rhythm.

Here’s why getting a rowing machine like the Merach NovaRow R50 can turn your fitness resolution into a habit you actually keep all year.

Low-impact, full body workout

Just because indoor rowing is a low-impact workout, it doesn’t mean it’s low effort. Each stroke works your legs, core, back, arms, and shoulders in one smooth motion. You get cardio and a bit of strength without pounding on your joints.

That’s what makes it sustainable. Whether you’re just starting out or trying again, indoor rowing meets you where you are on your fitness journey and lets you build progress without wearing you down.

Comfort and stability lead to consistency

There aren’t many workouts where you get to sit down, and that’s the best part about rowing. The Merach NovaRow R50 features an ergonomic, padded seat that won’t make your butt sore after a long session.

Compared to its more expensive counterparts, it also comes with wider foot straps so your feet stay locked in place. Every stroke feels steady and controlled.

Exercise that feels like an experience

Motivation doesn’t come from discipline alone. When workouts are immersive, they stop feeling like obligations.

Built into the free Merach app are guided classes, scenic rows, and games. When you wake up knowing your exercise is going to be fun instead of torture, your resolution can easily develop into a habit that you look forward to.

Better than a gym membership

One sale the Merach NovaRow R50 is $529.99, which is a fraction of what many people pay for a full year at the gym. Unlike a membership, it’s a one time investment that will call to you because it’s already there at home.

Whether it’s raining, freezing, or scorching outside, your new routine will not be dependent on weather conditions. Your habit is set up and ready for you.

At the end of the day, turning a fitness resolution into a lasting habit will always feel like a challenge. But it doesn’t need to be. It’s achievable if you set yourself up with something that fits your budget, lifestyle, and schedule.

TUMI Alpha Collection

TUMI has unveiled the next generation of its Alpha collection. This marks a refined evolution of its long-running travel and everyday carry lineup. The launch is led by Formula 1 World Champion and TUMI Global Brand Ambassador Lando Norris. He headlines a series of global campaigns that frame Alpha as gear built for modern movement.

Directed by Alice Schillaci and photographed by Reto Schmid, the campaign places Norris in a cinematic, mission-driven narrative. The visuals lean into precision and restraint, presenting Alpha as purposeful, focused, and intentionally understated. It’s less about flash and more about readiness.

That idea of readiness sits at the core of the collection’s redesign. According to TUMI Global Creative Director Victor Sanz, Alpha serves as a blueprint for how people move today. What they carry, how they access it, and how design can remove friction from the journey.

FXT Ballistic Nylon

At the center of the lineup is TUMI’s signature FXT Ballistic Nylon. It’s now paired with more streamlined pocket layouts, silent magnetic closures, and intuitive access points designed to reduce interruptions on the move. Key styles including the Dual Access Expandable Carry-On, TUMI Brief Pack™, Double Expansion Duffel, and Convertible Clutch Crossbody receive subtle refinements focused on efficiency and flow.

Alongside the updated designs, TUMI is also introducing Ultra Blue — a new accent color that appears across six core Alpha silhouettes. The vivid blue details highlight key touchpoints and serve as a visual nod to the brand’s ongoing focus on innovation and performance.

With this latest generation of Alpha, TUMI continues to evolve one of its most recognizable collections — not by reinventing it entirely, but by sharpening it for how people travel, work, and move today.

Sony releases two affordable turntables

They’re built for both first-timers and veteran vinyl listeners.

Vinyl records have been going through fits and starts throughout the years. While some years have a tepid collection of releases in the space, some feature new releases we’re very excited about. This year might be one of the latter, because Sony has just launched two new turntables that can bring the classic auditory experience for a competitive price.

First up is the PS-LX3BT. It’s a beginner-friendly turntable that values ease of use, while still prioritizing sleek designs. Right away, users can start listening with the attached audio cable and the built-in phono equalizer.

On the other hand, the PS-LX5BT is built for robustness. It has a rigid one-piece body and an aluminum tone arm. Together with the rubber mat and the circuit design, the entire turntable reduces vibrations and preserves audio quality. The high-grade cartridge delivers a wider soundstage. Finally, the gold-plated audio jack puts the premium on wired connections.

Despite the differences, both models will feature Bluetooth connectivity with aptX, aptX Adaptive, and Hi-Res Wireless Audio. They also have USB output with three-level gain control so you can digitize your library. Finally, they will support 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records.

The Sony PS-LX3BT is already available for presales. It will retail for US$ 399.99.

Meanwhile, the Sony PS-LX5BT will start its pre-sales later this spring. It will retail for US$ 499.99.
