Huawei will launch the Mate 50 series in September

First main Mate entry since 2020

The past few years have done a number on Huawei. From its former seat at the head of the table, the Chinese company has fallen on dire straits, losing to its rivals. However, the fight continues. The company is now struggling to replace the components it lost to several bans. Now, with a few new pieces, Huawei looks to rekindle its lost spark with the impending launch of the Mate 50 series.

The Chinese company has not released a new flagship since October 2020. Naturally, without several components and Google Mobile Services, Huawei’s popularity fell. After taking a bit more time on the drawing board, Huawei is back with its iconic flagship series.

Revealed on Weibo, the company is officially launching the Mate 50 on September 6 in China. The included poster does not include any graphics of the phone. However, it does show a photo of a sunset or a sunrise, a potential reference to golden hour or the best time for taking photos.

Of note, Huawei lost Leica, its former partner for camera technology, during the bans. The company is supposedly working on its own camera system called XMage. Could the event see the system’s debut?

Huawei might also launch four different variants for the lineup, mirroring some of its biggest rivals in the smartphone world. Speaking of rivals, Huawei’s timing is interesting for another reason. Apple is reportedly launching the iPhones the day after Huawei’s event.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is getting a PC port

Coming later this fall

Published

After the first one got a much-awaited port, it was only a matter of time before a second webslinger pops up on PC. Enjoying a much shorter lead time than the first game, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is officially getting a PC port later this year.

Earlier this year, Sony released the official port for the first game, Marvel’s Spider-Man, featuring Peter Parker as the titular superhero. At the time, Insomniac and Nixxes Software (the studio behind the port) only had perfunctory plans to bring Miles Morales along for the PC ride.

In practically no time at all, Sony has announced the official coming of the second game through its own teaser trailer. Though the trailer does not end with a release date, it will launch sometime in the fall of this year.

In terms of ports, Sony has found massive success in bringing its formerly exclusive games to more markets. Now, PC players can finally get access to critically acclaimed title from consoles. In Spider-Man’s case, various modders have already created a thriving community for the first game. One such segment involves replacing Peter’s model with other characters like Stan Lee.

Will Miles Morales get the same hype and fanfare? Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales continues the story started by Peter Parker. After being bitten by a radioactive spider, Miles sets off on his own adventure with electrifying powers.

If you can’t wait for the PC port, the game is still available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
