Nike Air is popular for a reason. It’s an ever-evolving platform with a design worth celebrating whether you’re a sneakerhead or an average user. This year, Nike decks out the Air Max Spring 2021 collection with three key silhouettes: the Air Max 2090 EOI, the Air Max Viva, and the VaporMax Evo.
First in the lineup is the Air Max 2090 EOI (Evolution of Icons), taking inspiration from classic Air Max’s shoes. The hybrid subtly incorporated details from Air Max 90, Air Max 180, and the Air Max BW.
Meanwhile, the Air Max Viva follows recursive developments of specific women’s Air Max models. The Viva included a cushioned midsole and a magnified Air Max Unit in the heel. Also, it comes with two laces for styling — a speckled midsole and a two-tone rubber outsole — complementing its leather, closed mesh, and nubuck detailing.
On the other hand, the VaporMax Evo explores a bolder style for the VaporMax. When you look closely, the silhouette actually fused details from classics like the Air Max 90, Air Max 93, and the Air Max Plus.

Uniqlo’s Mame Kurogouchi FW 2022 collection elevates cool weather outfits
Fall/Winter pieces that you can also use in the tropics
Manila is completely devoid of freezing temperatures. However, it doesn’t mean one cannot enjoy pieces from the new Mame Kurogouchi collaboration with Uniqlo. They’re great for layering during travel to other countries with cooler climes while being wearable here in the tropics as well.
At a launch event at their Global Flagship Store in Makati on the 11th of November, the team unveiled the latest pieces that come in neutrals and beautiful earth tones. From olive and mustard to a natural beige and the usual blacks, the cool-toned hues are perfect for this time of year. While they’re quite on trend at the moment, the colors and silhouettes are also versatile enough to be worn well beyond the current season.
Quite the showstopper is the 3D Soufflé Yarn Bustier. It can be worn by itself or over the Heattech Wool Blend Turtle Neck or even the Heattech Sleeveless Top. The latter, although part of the Heattech collection, is light enough for the tropical weather when worn on its own. The sleeveless top also comes in a silk-blend fabric that adds a bit of sheen while being so smooth to the touch.
The Heattech Wool Blend Flare Slit Leggings also drew attention from the crowd during the launch. Perfect for wearing ankle boots, this is a pair you would prefer to keep on top when you do some layering.
It’s not a winter collection with no knits. The Mame Kurogouchi 3D Knit Ribbed Square Neck Long Sleeve Sweater comes with bell sleeves to match the leggings. They also make it easier to dress it up by just adding some accessories. There’s also a ribbed skirt that can be taken from day-to-night.
Innerwear is also a big part of the collection. Proving that comfort and style can co-exist, the collection also features hip-hugging underwear and body shapers that aren’t the least bit painful to wear. Wireless bras and period panties that Uniqlo already has in its stores are also part of the collection but in the Mame Kuroguochi hues.
Mame Kurogouchi is a womenswear brand established in 2010. It is gaining worldwide recognition for the use of innovative materials, ingeniously constructed details incorporating traditional techniques, and curved lines that accentuate a woman’s beauty. Designer Maiko Kurogouchi’s commitment to creating clothing with details that allow women to live unrestricted, vibrant lives has captured the hearts of people around the world. This makes her the perfect designer for Uniqlo to collaborate with for comfortable, stylish pieces for FW 2022. The collection is now available in select stores and their online shop. Prices range from PhP590 to PhP1990 for items in the collection.
Uniqlo is running a sale until the 17th of November on some of their regular and seasonal collections. Some items go as low as PhP390. For those living in Laguna, the new Nuvali Roadside Store opens tomorrow, November 16, at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa.
God of War Ragnarok goodies you should grab
Plenty of merch to go by
The much-awaited PlayStation exclusive game God of War Ragnarok is finally here. But that’s not the only thing that arrived. Coming along with the game is a bevy of merch and goodies that die-hard fans of Kratos and Atreus can get their hands on.
Showcased during the multiple launch events that PlayStation held across Southeast Asia are Ragnarok T-shirts, caps, and Casetify smartphone cases.. Here’s a glimpse of the events:

Casetify X God of War Ragnarok
The Casetify cases features a collaboration with different artists across Asia. From South Korea, there’s Lee Kyu Young, from Taiwan is Chien Chih Kang, from Hong Kong is James Khoo Fuk-lung, and from the Philippines is Jappy Agoncillo.
Agoncillo’s art is also featured as a mural in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) along 7th avenue.

New Era caps and #FR2 shirts
For those who want to add GoW Ragnarok to their drip, you can grab these caps and shirts from New Era and #FR2.
The shirt features the game title in front and an artwork at the back with the quote “Fate only binds you if you let it.” Which is perhaps the best quote to pair the game with.

The next iteration of “Buy Better, Wear Longer” tackles Levi’s commitment to sustainability
Levi’s launches the next iteration of its “Buy Better, Wear Longer” campaign, building on the brand’s long-term commitment to making fashion more sustainable.
Prolonging the lifespan of its products has been one of Levi’s vows, ultimately being shared across the fashion industry as more consumers call for sustainable actions from the brands they love.
With a mission to help consumers love their jeans for decades, Levi’s created a cinematic short film from the perspective of a pair of Levi’s that tells a multi-generational story.
The film takes its viewers through the life of the brand’s most iconic design — the 501. Even if it was transformed through the decades and adapted to the times, the 501 is still relevant and wearable today as it was in the 1960s.
Global Chief Marketing Officer Karen Riley-Grant says “The campaign speaks to Levi’s legacy, durability, and appeal to a broad global audience. A pair of Levi’s ages beautifully, engaging generation after generation, with a few tweaks and changes. Timeless and versatile, yet fashionable — no matter the decade. This message is more relevant today than ever before, when we’re all thinking how we can contribute to a more sustainable future.”
A plea and a promise
“Buy Better, Wear Longer” is more than just a campaign. It is a plea for consumers to be more intentional about their purchasing designs. An appeal to be ingenious; to re-wear, repurpose, and hold on to their clothes as long as possible.
For Levi’s, it’s a commitment to continue its work on numerous fronts — to be responsible stewards of the natural resources we use, to innovate across its design to become more sustainable and to move towards a circular practice across the board.
To support its vision, Levi’s invested in materials such as Organic Cotton and Performance Eco Cool with recycled Polyester, reducing water consumption. It also pioneered Water<Less manufacturing in denim and featured in-store tailors to repair and repurpose garments.
Levi’s also works alongside Fashion for Good and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to aid in shifting the industry to a more circular model.
Continuing the commitment
In response to the global campaign, Levi’s Philippines set up Levi’s Tailor Shops in chosen Levi’s stores across the country. Customers can avail of services such as alterations, embroidery, and customizations such as paneling, stenciling, sewing of patches, studs, and collectible pins.
It’s currently available in the following malls: SM Mall of Asia, Robinsons Place Manila, Ayala Manila Bay, The SM Store in SM Makati, SM Cebu, and Robinsons Place Iloilo. Furthermore, a community synergy event will be launched to gear the local community into the sustainability cause.
On October 25, Levi’s “Buy Better, Wear Longer” event will be held at the Glorietta Palm Drive Activity Center. Denim and fashion enthusiasts can lean into the practice of re-wearing and repurposing their Levi’s pieces.
The interactive event will have its own Levi’s Tailor Shop as a swap booth where attendees can barter their used denim pieces. The event will also house a pop-up shop, photo booth, collab area, and a workshop for experts and key opinion leaders to tackle sustainable fashion.
