The OnePlus Watch has resurfaced in a new leak
Seemingly supplied by OPPO
Amidst an ongoing branding revamp, OnePlus has expanded its product lineups with a return to its roots. Recently, a budget-friendly OnePlus smartphone started making the rounds around the leaker community. With a fresh slate, another long-rumored device could potentially make its way into reality: the fabled OnePlus Watch. And, just like clockwork, the OnePlus Watch has resurfaced in a new leak once again.
Spotted by XDA Developers, the OnePlus Watch recently appeared in Indonesia’s IMDA website. The website specifically lists the “OnePlus Watch” name as a wearable watch. Besides that, the device carries the model name “W301GB.” It isn’t much of anything but should provide a way to identify the device in the future.
Another interesting tidbit is the device’s suppler. “Sinnopel Device” formerly went by the name “Singapore OPPO Electronics,” also spotted by the report. In terms of corporate structure, OnePlus belongs to the same group of companies as OPPO, bringing some legitimacy to this particular leak.
Late last year, a small tech leak also hinted at the upcoming OnePlus Watch. Though blatantly referencing OnePlus, the leak never revealed much information and eventually faded into oblivion.
Of course, a OnePlus Watch does not come without precedent. The company has already confirmed development of such a device way back in 2016. However, at the time, smartwatches were still a niche device. Fearing lackluster reception, OnePlus canned development and waited for a more opportune time.
That time might have finally arrived. Besides OnePlus’s reinvigorated branding revamp, the wearable industry has matured in recent years. Fronted by both wireless earbuds and smartwatches, the industry is prime for new players. Notably, OnePlus has also launched earbuds recently.
Who knows? OnePlus’s fabled smartwatch might finally exit the realm of fables and surface as an actual product.

Apple gives up on making AI, inks a deal with Gemini to power Siri
Gemini gets another feather in its cap.
In the not-too-long-ago past, the biggest names of the tech industry competed to build their own AI software. Now, though some brands are still on the hunt, it’s easier to name certain software that have more successfully drowned users in a flood of AI-powered features. Today, Google gets another win by adding Apple’s Siri to its Gemini cap.
In the past, Apple peddled Apple Intelligence, an upcoming AI-powered system to compete against the giants of the industry. However, much like other features from other brands, Apple Intelligence came out half baked with features still lacking months after the initial launch.
Now, Apple has signed a deal with Google to use Gemini for a revamped Siri. The former plans to launch a new version of Siri later this year. Because of the deal, the voice assistant will start using Gemini as a foundation for its own services. Currently, Samsung’s Galaxy AI already uses Gemini.
Formerly a battleground between so many competing brands, it’s now looking like a battle between two major companies: Google and OpenAI. Google now has a huge grip, though. Both Samsung and Apple are no slouches when it comes to owning market share in the world’s smartphones.
Now, as consumers, Apple’s deal probably doesn’t mean much besides the continued influx of features that add little to no value to a smartphone.
