OPPO Find N3

The OPPO Find N3 and Find N3 Flip foldable smartphones are now officially in a global launch held in Singapore.

These latest devices deliver breakthrough performances in design, imaging, and usability. This is to empower customers who expect more from devices in this category.

OPPO Find N3: Clearest and brightest

OPPO Find N3

The OPPO Find N3 has a light and thin design at just 5.8mm when open and 11.7mm when close. It comes with two flagship screens which are the clearest and brightest yet in any foldable.

Building on its predecessor, the Find N3 has a 6.3-inch outer screen and a 7.8-inch unfolded screen. Both displays have 425 ppi pixel density and up to 120Hz of dynamic refresh rate. It also has 2,800 nits of peak brightness.

The phone supports 15-inch Boundless View where users can have three vertical apps open with two appearing on-screen alongside one another, and the other off-screen.

For its audio, the phone has three powerful speakers with 100% superior bass reproduction and Spatial Audio to make it possible for left-and-right stereo sound no matter the orientation of the device.

Built to last, styled to perfection

At the core of the Find N3 is OPPO’s third-generation Flexion Hinge. It’s smaller than its previous version yet more durable.

It comes with IPX4 splash resistance, and has been independently tested to last a million folds.

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Its 4,800mAh battery supports 67W SUPERVOOC charging for a 100% charge in just 42 minutes.

For the camera package, the Find N3 has Sony’s 48MP LYTIA-T808 sensor that receives more light and reduces noise for richly detailed photos and videos.

It also has a 48MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with fast f/2.6 aperture for better detail whether day or night.

The phone’s three pro-grade cameras come with 14mm, 24mm, and 70mm equivalent focal lengths.

OPPO Find N3 Flip: Do more with less

OPPO Find N3 Flip

Meanwhile, the OPPO Find N3 Flip brings a flagship triple-camera and telephoto lens for the first time in foldable phones.

It has an upgraded vertical cover screen supports the use of essential apps like Gmail, Wallet, Maps, Grab, Telegram, TikTok, X (Twitter), WeChat, WhatsApp, and more while closed.

The vertical screen also displays more notifications and quick settings so users can stay updated with just a glance.

The screen has the same orientation as the phone’s camera, so users can take selfies immediately without having to turn the phone or open it.

Incredible portraits

OPPO Find N3 Flip

The Find N3 Flip’s triple-camera package features a 50MP wide, 48MP ultra-wide, and 32MP 3x zoom equivalent telephoto camera.

The main camera has a large sensor with f/1.8 aperture along with OIS to capture rich shots in detail while reducing noise even when taking photos under challenging conditions.

The Find N3 Flip is the only foldable with a telephoto camera to date, enabling users to capture subjects with optical 2x reach.

FlexForm mode

When semi-unfolded close to a 90-degree angle, the Find N3 Flip shall activate FlexForm Mode, which is ideal for having the phone sit on a surface while taking selfies, group shots, or videos.

At the core of the device is an upgraded Flexion Hinge tested for 600,000 folds. On the other hand, the phone’s main screen is a 6.8-inch AMOLED 120Hz display.

The Find N3 Flip is powered by a Dimensity 9200 processor with a 4,300mAh battery supporting 44W of SUPERVOOC charging.

Some AI bots are actually human workers in the Philippines

Human supervision needed

Published

on

At the start of the year, the rise of artificial intelligence sparked an important question for the future of labor. Will AI eventually replace our jobs? After a year of strikes and security issues, it’s clear that the technology still has some ways to go. Now, a new report has revealed a strange truth about the AI industry.

May I take your order?

In the United States, Presto Automation, an artificial intelligence company, prides itself as an instrumental tool in reducing human labor time. The company specializes in providing AI-based solutions to drive-thrus. Instead of relying on humans employees to take customer orders at a drive thru, food establishments with the technology, such as Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, can use automated software to do the same.

However, according to Bloomberg, the truth is less than glamorous. A recent filing with the Security and Exchange Commission revealed that over 70 percent of customer interactions done through Presto Automation is actually mediated by “off-site agents” in other countries including the Philippines.

While the main technology is still automated, the company still needs human intervention to ensure accurate orders. Also, while the SEC is investigating the company, Presto Automation recently changed its business description to reflect the need for “advanced human supervision.” It formerly claimed that the technology needs no human intervention at all.

Presto Automation isn’t even the first AI company to actually use off-site agents for their operation. Another company, ConverseNow, is also doing the same thing. Last year, Nate, an automated shopping platform, was caught for reportedly hiring workers in the Philippines to manually complete orders.

AI-based outsourcing

Automation is certainly changing the world for good or for ill. However, the technology is still far away from achieving its founders’ goals of replacing human labor. Beyond that, it’s also light years away from a more humanistic goal: replacing humans but allowing those same humans to still flourish on their own.

At this stage, AI-based automation is still following the same trends of late-stage capitalism. Companies are still outsourcing work from other countries. Whenever you order something online or through an automated platform, there’s a chance that someone from somewhere far away is behind your latest order.
