Xiaomi launched globally the all-new flagship Xiaomi 12 Series which comes with three devices: the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12X.

The three new devices are poised to deliver as an entertainment powerhouse with their pro-grade triple cameras and impressive advancements in AI algorithm, processing power, performance, and more.

Capture cinematic shots

The centerpiece of the new Xiaomi 12 Series phones is their pro-grade triple camera, featuring a 50MP main wide-angle camera.

This enables users to record studio-quality shots, including 8K recording capabilities on both the 12 Pro and 12 models.

The state-of-the-art triple 50MP array on the 12 Pro features a Sony IMX707 ultra-large main sensor while on the 12 and 12X are a 13MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 5MP telemacro camera.

The phones advance Xiaomi’s AI algorithms which make it easier for users to record every moment they want, whether in low-light conditions, moving, and more.

These manifest through advancements like Xiaomi ProFocus, Ultra Night Video, the One-click AI Cinema for video editing options, and more.

Flagship processing, unprecedented performance

The Xiaomi 12 Series features advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processors to boost GPU graphic rendering by up to 30 percent and energy efficiency by up to 25 percent.

All three devices come with UFS 3.1 exceptional loading and data transfer speeds, along with LPDDR5 RAM for memory speeds up to 6,400Mbps.

When it comes to battery life, the 12 Pro comes with an incredibly fast 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge which fully charges its 4,600mAh battery in just 18 minutes on Boost mode.

The 12 and 12X both have 4,500mAh batteries powered by 67W wired turbo charging. Both support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.

realme expands 15 series with GoT edition, 15T 5G

New smartphones join realme 15 5G, 15 Pro 5G

realme has officially expanded the realme 15 Series 5G lineup with the respective launches of the realme 15T 5G and realme 15 Pro 5G Game of Thrones Limited Edition.

As announced earlier, the realme 15 Pro GoT Edition is a collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.

Inspired by the HBO legendary fantasy series, the special edition phone was officially unveiled at the GoT Studio Tour in Northern Ireland.

Of course, it still retains the realme 15 Pro’s specs, including its Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, 7000mAh battery, and triple 50MP AI camera with 40K@60fps video support.

The phone comes with Game of Thrones-themed filters and UI designs. Only 5,000 units of the model will be available worldwide.

In the Philippines, the phone is priced at PhP 39,999 with the following inclusions:

  • Complimentary realme Watch S2
  • 1-Year Screen Damage Protection Plan
  • Exclusive Collector’s Box with Iron Throne stand and King’s Hand pin
  • Custom postcards and stickers

realme 15T 5G debuts

Meanwhile, the realme 15T 5G has likewise made its global debut. It features the same 7000mAh battery with 60W fast charging.

It uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Max 5G processor, and has a 4,000-nit 120Hz AMOLED display.

For its cameras, the variant has dual 50MP shooters, but minus the 4K video capabilities.

Moreover, the phone also has triple IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings to make it a tough and water-resistant daily driver.

There are two color options: Flowing Silver and Suit Titanium. There are two storage configurations:

  • 8GB+256GB: PhP 16,999
  • 12GB+512GB: PhP 19,999

As part of early launch offers, the 15T 5G can be availed for as low as PhP 12,869 on Shopee from October 8 to 18. It will also be paired with a free realme Buds T200 Lite.

Offline customers, meanwhile, can get a TechLife Bluetooth Speaker and 1-year Screen Damage Protection Plan while supplies for the freebie bundle last.

PlayStation announces a new duotone DualSense color

Can PlayStation finally stop making gaudy colorway options?

Published

on

The PlayStation 5 has been out for several years now. Despite how much time the console has had to marinate, the DualSense controller has honestly failed to impress with its variety of colors, especially when compared to the vibrant colors of the DualShock 4.

Of the nineteen available colors on the PlayStation website, only three options are, to me, worth the expensive price tag: Chroma Pearl, Chroma Teal, and the 30th Anniversary Edition. All the rest are either solid colors that clash horribly with the black panel or peppered with gaudy decals.

Just look at how terrible this looks.

If you have the same aversion to PlayStation’s creative choices as I do, the DualSense just got a new color option that might (or might not) appeal to you: the Icon Blue Special Edition.

Blue isn’t a new color for the controller. PlayStation has a healthy lineup of blue options such as Cobalt Blue and Chroma Indigo. However, in this case, the Icon Blue Special Edition lays it on thick on the duotone scale.

The main chassis is practically the same shade as Cobalt Blue. However, the touchpad, the bottom portion, the joysticks, and the PlayStation button are a lighter shade of blue.

For decals, the touchpad has translucent and subtle PlayStation buttons. On the back, the controller has “Pureisutēshon” written in katakana.

The design itself is giving off heavy Mega Man energy. In a sense, the colors do look loud. However, it’s a step in the right direction. It isn’t insisting on the black casing that clashes with everything except monochromatic colors. Hopefully, PlayStation develops more duotone options.

The Icon Blue Special Edition will become available in the United States starting on October 20. It sells for US$ 84.99.

You can now connect your Spotify account to ChatGPT

Seamless integration for personalized picks, more

Published

on

Spotify is now available on ChatGPT, with users in 145 countries already able access the live feature. This gives listeners a new way to discover and enjoy music and podcasts.

With the integration,  both Free and Premium users can bring Spotify into their ChatGPT chats to get personalized recommendations. That goes from playlists that match your mood to podcasts based on your interests.

To get started, simply mention Spotify in your ChatGPT prompt, connect your account, and start discovering.

From there, simply ask for songs, artists, playlists, or podcast episodes. ChatGPT will automatically bring up the Spotify app in your chat and use relevant context to accomplish the task.

Alternatively, ask for recommendations based on a mood, theme, or topic, and Spotify will surface personalized picks seamlessly within the flow of your conversation.

Tapping a track will open the Spotify app, allowing you to listen and watch directly from there.

Furthermore, you can also extend an existing ChatGPT conversation, like planning a weekend road trip, by asking Spotify to create the perfect soundtrack.

For best results, add details like genre, mood, or artist for music, or a topic, host, or guest for podcasts.

Save steps

The way it all looks, the integration saves mobile users a few taps and switching from one app to the other. That’s if they’ve initially opened the ChatGPT app and decided to listen to music or podcasts via Spotify.

And like the aforementioned example, it saves users thinking about a curated playlist.

Or, when people are driving, they can just talk to ChatGPT for specific commands. It’s about the Spotify account access. You can start connecting by opting in; and you can disconnect at any time.

Throughout the experience, artists and creators’ work stays protected. Spotify will not share music, podcasts, or any other audio or video content for OpenAI training purposes.

The feature is now live for all ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro users on web and mobile.

It’s in early days, and both parties will continue to build, refine, and improve the experience over the coming weeks and months.

It’s intriguing if Gemini will come up with its own version for the music streaming app’s Google counterpart, YouTube Music.
