10 must-play games from PlayStation’s Black Friday sale
Sony PlayStation is having limited time (November 19-29) offer Black Friday sales and there are plenty of games to choose from. To help you sift through the myriad of games, we’re listing here 10 titles (in no particular order) that you absolutely must-play.
Quick note: We’re basing this off the Singapore list. Pricing next to the title’s name is the discounted price. Some of the choices here were mainstream releases that you may have missed. If you’ve been on the fence on whether to add these to your library, then this is your sign to stop second guessing!
1. Persona 5 Strikers (SG$ 43.74)
This is an excellent addition to the Persona 5 games. Strikers has a different mechanic from the main game. It’s more Dynasty Warriors-like compared to the turn-based original. The story continues from the events of the main game which makes this a must play.
2. Guardians of the Galaxy (SG$ 67.91)
Only recently released to rave reviews — this Marvel title by Square Enix and Eidos Montreal puts you in the hover boots of Star Lord Peter Quill. This single-player campaign will have you hopping around space in spectacular fashion.
3. Assasin’s Creed Origins Digital Deluxe Edition (SG$ 19.92)
This is the game where the Assassin’s Creed franchise started to change the playstyle from something more stealthy to one that’s more akin to an action RPG. If you’re curious where the stylistic shift first happened, you might want to pick this one up.
4. Resident Evil 2 Remake (SG$ 23.20)
Resident Evil 2 first came out on the original PlayStation and is considered a classic. Updated for modern times, you’ll once again play as Leon Kennedy and Clair Redfield as they find out exactly what’s happening in the zombie-infested Racoon City.
5. Deathloop (SG$ 42.45)
In the mood for a funky first-person shooter? Deathloop should be right up your alley. Here you’re tasked to take down 8 crime bosses. But you need to do so all in one night. Fail and you get to try again but with knowledge from your initial playthroughs.
6. Tales of Arise (SG$ 63.92)
If you’re craving for some high-fantasy action JRPG then this title is made for you. This unapologetically feels like playing an animé. Even if that’s not your thing, the combat loop and endearing characters will draw you in.
7. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut (SG$ 68.53)
Does the prospect of fighting like a hybrid ninja/samurai in order to liberate a visually breathtaking island sound intriguing to you? That’s exactly what Ghost of Tsushima is. This is a cleverly designed open-world game that will make you feel like an absolute badass katana wielder.
8. It Takes Two (SG$ 34.03)
Hands down the best co-op/couple game in recent years. A couple on the verge of a divorce find themselves in the bodies of their child’s dolls. They have to work together to get back to their original form. It’s a fun platf0rmer with a lot of heart.
9. Hades (SG$ 27.92)
Easily one of the most fun and engaging rouge-like games, Hades has you playing as Zagreus as he tries to escape hell — his father’s realm. You’ll be assisted by the gods of Olympus along the way but getting through the whole loop is still up to you and your skills.
10. Spider-Man: Miles Morales (SG$ 40.74)
This would be a timely pick-up for the holidays. Set in New York Christmas time, the game features hero-in-training Miles Morales coming to his own as he protects the city as the solo Spider-Man. This does require some knowledge of the events of the 2018 Spider-Man PS4 game. You can either just YouTube the thing or pick-up the game too at SG$ 24.70.
