Samsung just launched the Galaxy Note 20 series. That said, it’s never too early to start talking about what’s up next. A new source might have shed some light on the upcoming Galaxy S30 series already. Apparently, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S30 will drop the ToF sensor because Apple’s is better.

According to a report from South Korean outlet The Elec, Samsung will no longer plans for a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor inside its flagship cameras. Last year, the Galaxy S10 series introduced the feature for Samsung. The feature continued until this year with the Galaxy S20 series. However, it was remarkably absent in the Galaxy Note 20 series, despite previous rumors.

Now, the report tells us why. First of all, ToF-compatible content has not skyrocketed in popularity yet. A ToF sensor increases a device’s capabilities in the virtual reality and augmented reality industry. Of note, Apple and Huawei both have the features on their phones. Of course, Samsung has a lot to gain with catching up to the two rivals. However, without any content for the feature, it isn’t worth it ye.

Secondly, Samsung is giving it up to the might of Apple’s ToF sensors. Now, both brands obtain their ToF sensors from Sony, rather than building it in-house. However, Apple has a better exclusivity contract with the company, allowing them to buy direct ToF sensors. On the other hand, Samsung can buy only indirect ToF sensors, a slightly lesser version of the same thing. Apple clearly has an upper hand. With the current deal in place, Samsung might find more value in developing its own sensor in-house.

Of course, the report is still rudimentary at best. We are still months away from the Galaxy S30’s traditional launch window. Anything can still happen.

HONOR will reveal its first humanoid robot at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026.

It hasn’t been a year since HONOR announced entering robotics development, and soon, the manufacturer will officially have its first humanoid robot.

The appearance of the robot can already be previewed in HONOR’s 39-second teaser clip below:

Notably, the narration says “Believe in the magic”. This could suggest HONOR is also naming the robot after its flagship series.

This is on top of the much anticipated HONOR Robot Phone, which has been previewed as early as October 2025 (and also seen on the clip).

This AI-powered robot phone features a built-in, 3-axis gimbal which supports the camera system and can “interact” with the user.

HONOR will also officially announce the HONOR Magic V6, its latest flagship foldable with enhanced durability, larger battery, and even slimmer design.

Plus, two more AI-powered devices will join the ecosystem: the HONOR MagicPad4 and HONOR MagicBook Pro 14. These boost productivity with superior performance in ultra-slim form factors.

All aforementioned products advance HONOR’s Alpha Plan vision of a synergized human-machine future.

They will officially be unveiled during HONOR’s Keynote Launch Event themed “Believers in AI Future” on March 1.

It will be held at the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona starting at 1:00 PM CET.

Samsung’s most advanced AI-powered PC lineup yet, the Samsung Galaxy Book6 series, will be available in the United States starting March 11.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Book6 Pro, and Book6 are all powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors to deliver improved CPU, GPU, and NPU performance.
