This Nintendo Alarmo clock looks absolutely adorable

It has custom themes and motion sensing

Because of smartphones, the alarm clock has found itself wasting away in the dustbins of history. Today, Nintendo is making alarm clocks fun again. The new Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo is designed to liven up waking in the morning.

Despite how it looks, the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo is more than just a themed clock. Out of the box, the alarm clock comes with 35 scenes from five of Nintendo’s first-party games. This includes Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure.

Further, linking a Nintendo Account will allow the user to download additional scenes. Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are already on the docket.

As for how it works, the Alarmo has a motion sensor that can detect movement while you sleep. This can be used for sleep tracking. Users also have the option to use motion sensing as a way of waking up. Once the themed alarm sounds, users can just get up from bed to silence the sound.

Users can also set the alarm to Steady or Gentle. Steady Mode will increase the alarm’s intensity over time. Meanwhile, Gentle Mode will keep things on the same level. Finally, a separate Button Mode allows users to manually shut off the alarm with a button press, rather than relying on the clock’s motion sensing technology.

The Alarmo will arrive in retail stores starting early 2025. It costs US$ 99.99. However, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in the United States and Canada can purchase the clock early through Nintendo’s website. Alternatively, the clock is also already available at the Nintendo NY Store in New York City.

Apple Fifth Avenue or Nelson Road? New Yorkers gathered at the iconic flagship store as it transformed into a slice of AFC Richmond for a Ted Lasso lookalike contest celebrating the return of the hit Apple TV+ series.

Dozens of fans arrived in Ted’s signature look, complete with mustaches, visors, blue sweaters, and khakis. Inside the store, the AFC Richmond takeover continued with themed photo opportunities and hidden Easter eggs for longtime fans to discover.

The celebration continued across Midtown and Central Park, where brand ambassadors spread kindness with “Believe” signs, complimentary coffee and tea, a tunnel of cheering Teds for runners, and the Goldfish Zone, where visitors symbolically let go of worries by dropping paper fish into a fishbowl.

Westminster Abbey isn’t just another stop on the London tourist trail.

It’s the stage for coronations, royal weddings, and burials that span nearly a thousand years, all still playing out under the same vaulted ceilings that have been standing since before most countries had names.

Once you get past the crowds and the audio guides, a quieter version of the abbey starts to show itself: worn stone steps, poets resting a few feet from kings, light that shifts across the nave like it’s in on the performance too.

While losing track of time in Poets’ Corner (yes, me, playing amateur historian for an afternoon), I unfolded the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and decided the abbey deserved more than a quick tourist snap.

All photos captured using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
