Globe opens pre-orders for the iPhone 11 series

Apple fans in the Philippines don’t have to wait much longer. Globe is opening pre-orders for the iPhone 11 series this October 18.

Pre-orders will happen through Globe’s online shop. All iPhone 11 models will be available with ThePLAN, Globe’s standard postpaid plan. Those looking for more data allocation can also avail the iPhone 11 with ThePLATINUM, Globe’s premium postpaid plan.

Existing Globe postpaid customers may renew their plans and devices to the new iPhone 11 through the plan renewal hotline (211).

All pre-ordered iPhone 11 models are expected to arrive by October 25.

Apple’s iPhone 11 series consist of three flagships: the 6.1-inch iPhone 11the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro, and the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max. The regular iPhone 11 has a Liquid Retina LCD display while the pro models have the Super Retina XDR AMOLED displays. All devices come with a 12MP wide-angle + 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera setup, with the pro models gaining a 12MP telephoto camera. A13 Bionic chipset in these pohones delivers fast performance and improved battery life.

Pricing in the Philippines starts at PhP 47,990 for the iPhone 11 (64GB model). It goes up to PhP 67,990 for the iPhone 11 Pro (64GB model) and PhP 73,990 for the iPhone 11 Pro Max (64GB model).

Sony Xperia 1 II coming to Singapore

The world’s first smartphone with up to 20FPS AF/AE tracking burst — the Sony Xperia 1 II — is coming to Singapore.

Some of the more notable improvements from its predecessor are as follows: new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip, support for 5G, and a single storage option of 256GB.

However, the headlining features are its camera capabilities. Specifically the following:

  • 20FPS burst shooting with 60 times per second AF/AE3 calculations from Sony’s Alpha interchangeable lens cameras.
  • Creator mode and cinema recording function Cinematography Pro “powered by CineAlta” from Sony’s professional solutions business division
  • X1 for mobile based on technology from BRAVIA TV

The camera system is still a triple 12-megapixel setup but it now has larger sensors and ZEISS optics. The cameras are also calibrated by ZEISS and the lens have a special ZEISS T anti-reflective coating on them. Optical zoom is one-step further with three times magnification instead of two.

It has a 6.5-inch 4K OLED Display with a cinematic 21:9 Aspect Ratio and is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

Availablity in Singapore

The Xperia 1 II in Black, Purple and White will be available in Singapore in Q4 of 2020 at Sony StoresSony Store Online, and the Sony flagship store on Lazada. Price information will be available at a later date while a registration of interest can be done at this link.

OPPO Enco W31 now official

With ‘Environment Noise Cancellation’

OPPO just announced the pricing and availability of one more TWS headphones option — the OPPO Enco W31.

It has dual microphones that enables the Environment Noise Cancellation feature. OPPO says it shuts out the noise enough so you can focus on whatever you need to focus on, free from any noise distractions.

For sound quality, it has a bass and balance mode for what they say is “high-definition sound quality and rhythmic bass for lifelike audio.” It has tap and touch controls and supports a voice assistant.

It promises up to 15 hours of music playback and up to 12 hours of call time with the charging case. Fully charging the earphones will take only 2.5 hours. It also has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

The OPPO Enco W31 retails for PhP 2990 (US$ 61) and is available for purchase on all open OPPO concept and online stores, official dealers, as well as Shopee and Lazada.
