Gotham Knights: Everything we know so far

A Batman game without Batman in it?

Warner Bros. Games has a new game up its sleeve for 2022 after much delay from last year. In this game, the developers promise a more dynamic and interactive experience within one of the DC Universe’s most popular locations. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the world of Gotham Knights, and here’s everything we know so far:

A world without the Dark Knight?

Ever wonder what Gotham City would be like without Batman? In Gotham Knights, this is the kind of world you’re stepping into; one where the Dark Knight no longer rose. With the absence of Batman, crime in Gotham City skyrocketed and a new breed of villains are on the loose.

Gotham City in a world without Batman

Without Batman to protect the city, its citizens are looking for some new crimefighters to deal with all the chaos. Enter the Batman Family featuring Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin, sworn to protect all of Gotham from the shadows. Of course, this responsibility extends even to solving mysterious crimes apart from dealing with dangerous villains.

Also, despite the fact that this is produced by the same people behind Batman: ArkhamGotham Knights does not follow the same lore as that game. In this game’s universe, Batman is dead and the heroes are also looking for answers to understand the cause of his death.

Explore the chaos of new Gotham City

Gotham Knights features a rather open-world experience set around the very city mentioned in the title, with all the chaos in it. Naturally, a world without Batman would still be under the night sky and some well-lit places of interest. Much like any other city, Gotham will also feature vehicles which our lovely heroes can use to traverse within the world.

Gameplay-wise, each member of the Batman Family comes with their own unique sets of skills and combat styles — which is helpful depending on who you want to play as. In this game, players will also have a levelling up system where players earn XP to upgrade their hero of choice. Although, this levelling up system applies to both you and the enemies so expect tougher foes the higher your level goes.

If you’re wondering whether you have to go through this game alone, don’t fret! Gotham Knights might also come with a multiplayer campaign considering you have a variety of heroes to choose. Whether or not multiplayer is extended to 4-player co-op is still unclear as of writing, but all signs point to a more online multiplayer experience.

Gotham Knights will be available on October 25, 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC.

Tides of Annihilation will make its public playable debut at Gamescom 2026.

Developer Eclipse Glow Games announced that attendees can try an extended demo of the upcoming action-adventure game during the event in Cologne, Germany. Players can find the demo at Hall 6, Booth B-050 inside Koelnmesse.

The studio will also reveal a new trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, before the show floor opens.

Demo offers more exploration and combat

The Gamescom demo gives players a longer look at Tides of Annihilation. It features branching paths that lead to different exploration routes and combat encounters. Players can also explore key locations and experience several of the game’s biggest set pieces.

“Gamescom will be an incredibly important moment for our team since this will be our first global playtest and we’re excited to see how first-time players experience our game,” said Ary Chen, Game Director and Co-CEO of Eclipse Glow Games.

“The team has poured heart, soul, and maybe even a few tears into developing the game over the last few years, and it’s finally our opportunity to share it with players. We’re looking forward to seeing their reaction.”

Members of the press and content creators can also schedule private hands-on sessions with the development team during the event.

Arthurian-inspired adventure

Tides of Annihilation blends fast-paced action with a Neo-Medieval vision of modern London. The story follows Gwendolyn after an Outworld invasion leaves the city in ruins.

Driven by a mission to save her sister, she travels between a shattered London and the mythical realm of Avalon. Along the way, she uncovers the mystery behind her newfound powers. She must also decide the fate of reality itself.

Eclipse Glow Games is developing Tides of Annihilation for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Yasmine | Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 has officially welcomed Yasmine, making history as the first Filipino martial artist to join the franchise’s playable roster. The new character is now available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 as part of the game’s Year 4 content.
