Porsche Design Magic6 RSR is HONOR’s best flagship smartphone yet
Together with the HONOR Magic6 Ultimate
Throughout the years, smartphone brands have never stopped slapping superlative branding on their flagship phones: Apple with “Pro Max” on their iPhones, HUAWEI and vivo with “Pro+”, while Samsung, Xiaomi, and recently ASUS plus OPPO with “Ultra”.
And just like how HONOR joined the hype train last year, the ever-growing Chinese tech brand has unveiled not only one, but two of their best flagship smartphones in China — the Magic6 Ultimate and (a very mouthful) Porsche Design Magic6 RSR.
UltiMagic
What makes the HONOR Magic6 Ultimate and Porsche Design Magic 6 RSR different from the Magic6 Pro are definitely their radical design. The Magic6 RSR obviously got its looks from the sleek lines and curves that the car slash design brand is known for.

Both sides are plastered with glass — NanoCrystal Shield to be exact. In between them is none other than a lighter yet sturdier titanium frame that’s also evident among sports cars.

But the star of the show has got to be its hexagonal camera design. This pays homage to the car brand slash design house’s long-lasting excellence in design and aesthetics.

Meanwhile, the Magic6 Ultimate is also a looker — albeit a different material approach. Instead of a glass back, it has an eco-leather silicone polymer back instead — pretty much like its Magic6 Pro sibling, rather a starker camera cutout.

The front glass protection is also quite different from its Pro sibling. Instead of a King Kong Diamond JuRhino, it’s equipped with King Kong Rhinoceros.
HONORable Flagship
You still get all the nitty gritty of flagship specs in these two new smartphones: a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 6.8-inch LTPO OLED adaptive 120Hz display with 4320Hz PWM Dimming and Dolby Vision support, as well as an IP68 water and dust resistance rating.

But these aren’t “top-of-the-line” for no reason. The new display is dubbed a Dual-layer OLED Tandem display. This new display tech can last up to 600% than conventional OLED displays. It still provides a blindingly-bright 5000 nits of peak brightness.

The Magic6 Ultimate ships in two options: either 512GB of 1TB of storage plus 16GB of internal memory. However, the Magic6 RSR is only available in a lone 1TB + 24GB system configuration.

80W SuperCharge and 50W wireless SuperCharge also remain. The case isn’t different with its 5600mAh battery. The only difference is that the Magic6 RSR has a Si-Ca (Silicon-Carbon) battery instead of Li-Po (Lithium Polymer) found on its Ultimate and Pro siblings.

The Magic6 Pro already has superb cameras, but these two new phones in the series has an overall improved “SLR-like” camera hardware. The 50-megapixel main camera has been retained but changed to the H9800 image sensor based on OmniVision’s OV50K.

The new sensor still provides the f/1.4 to f/2.0 variable aperture but is 1/1.3-inch in size and has an improved 15EV dynamic range. The new duo also use LiDAR AF (Auto Focus) rather than the conventional Laser AF.
Pricing and Availability
The HONOR Magic6 Ultimate are available in two colors: Sky Purple and Ink Rock Black.

On the other hand, the Porsche Design Magic6 RSR ships in either Agate Grey or Frozen Berry colorways — which are actually offered on real Porsche super cars.

The Magic6 Ultimate is being sold in China for CNY 6999 (US$ 973 / EUR 893 / GBP 763 / SG$ 1300 / PhP 54,019 / INR 80,598) and CNY 7699 (US$ 1070 / EUR 982 / GBP 839 / SG$ 1430 / PhP 59,421 / INR 88,658) .
Concurrently, the Porsche Design Magic6 RSR retails at CNY 9999 (US$ 1390 / EUR 1276 / GBP 1090 / SG$ 1858 / PhP 77,173 / INR 115,144).
HONOR did not state any information about the Magic6 Ultimate’s availability outside China but the Magic6 RSR is said to be released globally around the second half of 2024.

Beyond the Box, Digital Walker turn over Tesla Model Y to iPhone 17 raffle winner
What began as an iPhone 17 launch-day purchase became a once-in-a-lifetime moment for a first-time iPhone user.
Beyond the Box and Digital Walker officially turned over a Tesla Model Y to Joshua Juanillo, the lucky winner of their iPhone 17 launch raffle.
What started as a simple purchase quickly turned into a moment that felt bigger than the box. Joshua, a 27-year-old employee and long-time Android user, earned a single raffle entry after buying an iPhone 17 base model on the first day of sale at Digital Walker Glorietta.
It was his first time switching to iPhone, and already a milestone on its own. He had no idea it would lead to something this life-changing.
The surprise didn’t stop there. During the turnover, Beyond the Box and Digital Walker CEO Charles Paw added another unexpected gift to the moment, a brand-new iPhone Air, turning an already unforgettable day into something even more surreal.
This is the kind of story that captures what Beyond the Box and Digital Walker mean when they say Go Beyond. It’s about transforming a regular retail experience into a memory that stays with you long after the receipt fades.
With his new iPhone now seamlessly integrated with his Tesla Model Y, Joshua steps into a smarter, more connected way to drive, navigating and controlling his car straight from his phone.
The turnover was made even more meaningful as Joshua celebrated the moment with his family and girlfriend by his side, sharing a once-in-a-lifetime win that started with a single purchase and a leap of faith.
In 2023, there were rumors that ASUS is done with the Zenfone series. The rumors were apparently exaggerated because the brand eventually issued an official statement to deny the shuttering of the Zenfone. Now, in 2026, we’re back to speculating on the smartphone’s future. This time, however, it’s coming from high up the chain of command.
In a translated version of an interview (via Taiwan’s Inside), ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih said that ASUS has no plans to add new smartphone models in the future. Based on previous rumors, the shutdown will affect 2026, at the very least.
Despite confirming that the brand’s phones are gone for now, Shih has not waved away the possibility that they might come back in the future. Right now, we don’t know if this is all just a “see you later” or a “we’re leaving for good.”
ASUS’s last major launch in the smartphone space was early last year. The Zenfone 12 Ultra was an interesting headset but didn’t make enough waves to make a dent in the industry. On the other hand, ROG released the ROG Phone 9 Pro, which made our list of the best premium smartphones from 2025.
With the almost-certain exit from the smartphone space, this leaves the Zenfone 12 Ultra and the ROG Phone 9 Pro without successors in the foreseeable future. However, Shih has promised that the current lineup will still receive updates going forward.

realme launches the world’s first 10,001 smartphone battery
It’s coming to the realme P4 Power.
Towards the end of 2025, HONOR broke new ground by launching the first smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery. The jam-packed phone is big enough to be a powerbank. However, realme has, quite literally, inched its way to the top by launching the world’s first 10,001mAh battery.
Called the 10,001mAh Titan battery, it will power the upcoming realme P4 Power. The brand promises that more details will arrive soon.
Last year, realme unleashed a 10,000mAh battery concept phone. Likely to their dismay, HONOR got the edge over them by releasing a consumer-ready product before realme could. Now, with a 10,001mAh battery on the horizon, realme wants the sole spot as the smartphone brand with the world’s biggest battery.
Arguably, it’s difficult to define what a single milliampere-hour can tangibly do to a smartphone’s performance and longevity. The effect is probably negligible, but it probably does wonders for the brand’s marketing. And in any case, this shows that the battery wars are still alive and well, especially in China.
It isn’t just a showy war, too. The battery wars have resulted in upping the average battery capacity across the industry. For example, a lot of smartphone batteries these days are already hovering around 7,000mAh, which is quite a pack already for everyday use.
