MediaTek to expand GenAI ecosystem
For real-time on-device Gen AI features
MediaTek has reemphasized its commitment to focus on AI for future technologies. In a recent media gathering, the semiconductor company announced that it is expanding its GenAI ecosystem with support from Baidu and LLama, among others.
In the same gathering, MediaTek said it views AI and Generative AI as essential and transformative opportunities to shape the future of technology. The company also recognizes the potential of AI to drive innovation and efficiency across a wide range of applications.
As such, they aim to be at the forefront of developing solutions that will meet the growing demands of consumers and industries worldwide. And by expanding its GenAI ecosystem, the company will empower on-device GenAI with real-time features, like objective removal and image generation. These AI features are starting to become a standard now for flagship and upper midrange smartphones, in particular.
MediaTek is known for their Helio G series chipsets for lower segment smartphones, and the Dimensity series processors for phones on the higher-end of the spectrum.
The company’s statements on their direction when it comes to AI technologies coincide with the announcement that they have been the top global mobile chipset vendor for almost four consecutive years. Furthermore, they emphasized that the Southeast Asian (SEA) region was among three markets that posted a Total Addressable Market (TAM) share of over 50% in smartphones last year.
The highly-anticipated vivo X300 series is officially coming to the Philippines next week. The smartphones will launch on November 26 via a vivo Philippines Facebook live event starting at 6 in the evening.
There will be three available colorways for the Philippine market: Phantom Black, Dune Brown, and Halo Pink. Memory and storage configurations are yet to be announced.
vivo’s latest flagships were announced globally less than a month ago. They are composed of the vivo X300 and vivo X300 Pro models, which both boast of 200MP ZEISS camera systems.
The Pro debuts a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with an upgraded Ultra-Sensing Sensor HPB.
Meanwhile, the 50MP ZEISS Gimbal-Grade Main Camera boasts of a large 1/1.28″ sensor and industry-leading CIPA 5.5-rated stabilization.
These enable the main camera to deliver more stable, faster, and clearer shots while greatly improving the overall imaging performance.
On the other hand, the X300 features a 200MP ZEISS Main Camera, along with a ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera with a LYT-602 sensor.
Leading performance, efficiency, and endurance
Aside from impressive camera systems, the vivo X300 handsets also feature improvements across OS, performance, and design.
They run on the new OriginOS, which is supported by ultra-core computing, memory fusion, and dual-rendering engines.
Inside, the X300 phones are powered by a Dimensity 9500 chipset jointly defined by vivo and MediaTek.
Built on the 3nm process, the platform delivers exceptional power and remarkable energy efficiency. It features a fully-upgraded 12-core G1-Ultra GPU and ultra-efficient NPU.
In front are 8T LTPO displays (6.31-inch for the X300 and 6.78-inch for the X300 Pro) with up to 2000 nits global peak brightness.
Lastly, the phones have long-lasting batteries (X300 Pro: 6510mAh; X300: 6040mAh) both supporting 90W FlashCharge and wireless charging.
Some moments slip away before we’re ready.
The blink. The blur. The half-smile lost to motion.
The HUAWEI nova 14 Pro wants to fix all that because it calls itself the King of AI Selfie. So we brought it along for an afternoon out to see if it could actually keep up.
Bowling isn’t the easiest place for a selfie. The lights shift. People move fast. And I never stay still. But the 50MP Front AI Portrait Dual Camera doesn’t flinch.
With Ultra Speed Snapshot on the front camera, it freezes movement better than most phones I’ve used. Mid-shot. Mid-laugh. Even mid-blink. It just catches the moment.
There’s also the 0.8 to 5x selfie zoom — still the only one of its kind. It lets me frame selfies the way I want: wider when friends jump in, tighter when it’s just me.
And if someone blinks, it’s fine. AI Best Expression lets you fix one person’s look without retaking everything. Pick their best eyes, best smile, best moment.
You also get three beauty styles: Natural, Delicate, and Stylish. I kept it light, but each one still looks closer to real skin instead of an overly filtered version of yourself.
My favorite AI tool might be AI Remove. Shoot first, fix later. The phone cleans up distractions — stray people, signs, objects — and leaves behind the photo you meant to take.
And when my hands were full at the café after, AI Gesture Control helped me browse without touching the screen. Simple gestures. Quick page flips.
On the rear, the nova 14 Pro steps up with its Ultra Chroma Camera. HUAWEI says it uses 1.5 million spectral channels to get color right. And honestly, the tones feel closer to what I saw in person.
Motion is where the rear camera surprised me. Dual Shutter technology blends long and short exposures in one shot. Action stays sharp without making the whole frame darker.
And because the aperture goes from F1.4 to F4.0, you can change depth of field depending on the moment. Creamy background for portraits. More detail when you need it.
The nova line has always been about reliability, and this one holds up. You get a 5500mAh battery and 100W SuperCharge Turbo. Fast top-ups. Easy all-day life.
Up front, there’s the 6.78-inch Flawless Quad-Curved Display. Smooth edges. Easy on the eyes. A polished look that still feels practical.
The nova 14 Pro sticks to the series’ youthful identity. Lightweight. Friendly curves. And the new Star Orbit Ring gives it that recognizable nova look — clean and symmetrical.
It also supports Wi-Fi 7, optional NearLink for device tracking, and has a five-star drop-resistance certification. Plus IP65 dust and water resistance.
The HUAWEI nova 14 Pro feels like what the nova line has always been: a feature-packed mid-ranger built for young adults who want a phone that simply keeps up. AI tools that fix your shots. Cameras that freeze moments. Battery that lasts.
If you want a selfie-focused phone that can keep up with days like this, this is the nova you’re looking for.

Not to be outdone in the camera department, the C85 has a 50MP AI camera plus handy features like AI Ultra Clarity and AI Edit Genie.
Alongside the 5G model, a 4G variant is also available.
realme Buds Clip also launched
Aside from the C85, realme also launched the new realme Buds Clip, a new open-ear, ear-clip style Bluetooth wearable.
It has 11mm dual-magnet large-amplitude speakers and supports AI Dual-Mic ENC. There are likewise audio enhancements, including NextBass Algorithm, Sound-Leap Directional Tech, and 3D Spatial Audio.
Users can enjoy up to 36 hours of battery life with the charging case. The earphones also provide 45ms low latency, dual-device connection, and even AI real-time translation, among other helpful features.
