Marvel Rivals officially unveils Moon Knight

Moon Knight joins the December 6 launch roster

At D23 Brazil, Marvel Games and NetEase Games have officially announced that Moon Knight will be part of the Marvel Rivals launch roster.

The Super Hero team-based PVP shooter is set for a December 6 launch. All heroes will be unlocked and free to play at launch and beyond.

Marvel Rivals let players assemble an all-star squad of heroes or villains with unique powers to battle across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps across the Marvel Multiverse.

Aside from the Moon Knight announcement, Marvel Rivals also named Shota Nakama as the game’s music producer and arranger. Masahiro Aoki, meanwhile, is the game’s music composer.

Nakama is known for his work with Final Fantasy XV and Made in Abyss. On the other hand, Aoki is remembered for his previous project with Street Fighter V and Bayonetta 3.

Marvel Rivals first announced Psylocke to its roster last September. The reveal trailer for Psylocke featured Moon Knight’s character symbol towards the end. That gave fans an obvious hint.

The mercenary Marc Spector, Moon Knight wields supernatural powers bestowed by Egyptian moon god Khonshu to vanquish his foes.

In crafting Moon Knight’s in-game persona, the Marvel Rivals development team incorporated a color scheme of black and white, drawing from the rich tapestry of ancient Egyptian mythology linked with Khonshu.

Developers also added “Egyptian Faience” material to his constume design, infusing Moon Knight’s appearance with a mystical and exotic allure.

Moreover, technological components and rugged armor motifs were integrated by the team to the character’s design, to depart a bit from the traditional costume seen in the comics.

This process enhances Moon Knight’s visual impact and aligns with the game’s overall aesthetic.
