Huawei Mate XT already has 3 million preorders ahead of launch
Is the tri-fold smartphone launching globally soon?
Smartphones today are jealous of Huawei. While most of the industry are warring over the best foldable smartphone, the Chinese smartphone brand has moved on to three folds in one device. Though the brand already launched the Mate XT in China, the world’s first tri-fold smartphone has just started finding its wings in the global market.
Today, Huawei Philippines has teased the coming of the foldable device in the country. Ahead of an official launch, the company has confirmed that the Mate XT is already one of the most popular devices in the market today. The foldable, according to Huawei, has already garnered three million preorders in markets where it is available.
It hasn’t been an easy journey for the Mate XT. The smartphone was relentlessly teased late last year by Huawei’s own head honcho who started using the unrevealed device in public. However, Huawei has been working on the device for five years — around the time of the very first foldable phone from Samsung.
Apparently, Huawei has been looking far into the horizon for three panels since then. Unfortunately, because of how hard it was to perfect even two screens, a tri-fold smartphone had to wait until this year to launch.
To be clear, Huawei has not announced when the Mate XT is officially launching. However, the vast number of preorders do indicate that a launch is coming soon.

These space photos were taken with an iPhone 17 Pro Max
All three photos were taken with the selfie cam.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max has always been touted as the quintessential phone for creators. But what happens if that creator finds themselves on the far side of the Moon?
Last week, NASA concluded the Artemis II, the first manned mission around the far side of the Moon in this century. Naturally, the mission produced breathtaking views of both the Moon and the Earth. Though most of those photos were taken with dedicated cameras, a few of them were taken with an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Before the mission launched into orbit, NASA confirmed that the premium iPhone model had been approved to be included in the spaceflight. Each of the four crew members were given the phones for their own photography.
All three of the photos posted here were reportedly taken with the phone’s selfie camera. That says a lot about the iPhone’s camera quality if they weren’t even taken with the powerful rear cameras.
When the mission ended last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook and marketing SVP Greg Joswiak congratulated the crew for finishing the mission and taking spectacular photos with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Artemis II marks a special milestone for spaceflight. It’s the first time in almost 25 years that humans have gone to the Moon. NASA, as well as other agencies all over the world, are planning more manned spaceflights in the coming future.

Samsung brings back the Galaxy Z Trifold
The brand’s first trifold phone comes back after being pulled from stores.
Rumors of the Galaxy Z Trifold’s death have been greatly exaggerated. Recently, Samsung pulled its first trifold phone from its stores, heavily hinting that their three-screen experiment has ended. However, if you didn’t manage to grab one of these beasts during its first release, the Galaxy Z Trifold is back in stores.
At the start of this year, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Z Trifold, ushering in its entry into the relatively infantile market. Naturally, the unique smartphone was a looker; however, with its eye-watering price tag, the demand is still low. Reflecting that, the brand reportedly pulled the device from the market last month.
Now, the phone is back once again. Interested users can grab the phone from Samsung’s website for the same US$ 2,899 price tag.
As with the other trifold phones (scant as they are), Samsung’s entry features three screens packed into one phone. Users can then fold the main screen in a variety of ways, introducing a lot of configurations to enjoy content. With how popular foldable phones are today, there’s certainly a market for flexible screens.
If you’re still in the market for Samsung’s first trifold phone, Samsung has not announced how long this latest batch will last, so get one while you still can.
