Huawei Mate XT starts its global launch
Starting in Malaysia
Three is often better than two. In a world of foldables defined by the number two, a foldable smartphone with three folds has the potential to upend the entire industry. After locally unveiling its attempt at a revolution in the smartphone space, Huawei is finally ready to show off the fabled Huawei Mate XT to a global market.
A global first
With three folds, the Mate XT clearly owns the world record for having the largest foldable display. Completely unfolded, the main screen is 10.2 inches. It doesn’t have only two states, either. The Mate XT can fold in multiple configurations, introducing new ways to use a smartphone. You can use it like a tablet, for example, or as a two-screened device.
Additionally, the Mate XT is the thinnest foldable as of this writing. Minus the rear camera, the foldable smartphone measures only 3.6 millimeters in its fully unfolded state.
Durability remains a key part of this ultra-thin device. Despite the thinness, the smartphone uses an Advanced Precision Hinge System and a 322cm ultra-thin glass. The hinge also means that the phone can fold either inwardly or outwardly.
Now, the thinness does not factor in the rear camera. That’s because the camera packs in some serious firepower. Huawei installed an Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera, featuring a 10-size adjustable physical aperture.
Under the hood
Inside, the Huawei Mate XT touts 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The rear (or, in this case, what you might call the main) camera consists of a 50-megapixel ultra aperture lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope lens. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
For durability, the Mate XT is rated IPX8 for dust and water resistance. It comes with a 5600mAh battery, compatible with 66W Huawei SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging.
Price, availability
Today, Huawei launched the Mate XT in Malaysia. The launch confirms that the Chinese brand plans to release the tri-fold device in more markets. However, at this time, we can share only the price for the Malaysian market. It should, however, temper your expectations when it reaches your market.
In Malaysia, the Mate XT starts at EUR 3,499 (approximately US$ 3,661).
We’ve also confirmed that the smartphone will arrive in the Philippines sometime in March.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra OLED receives Privacy Display verification
Panel features Samsung Display’s Flex Magic Pixel
The display panel found exclusively on the latest Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has received UL Solutions’ “Privacy Display” verification.
You may have already heard about the flagship device’s innovative display feature, which makes it difficult to view content on the screen when tilted slightly.
Samsung previously said that the process took five years of engineering, testing, and refining, hence the careful and deliberate roll-out instead of a sudden one.
This process included studying how individuals use their phones, what they consider private, and how security should feel in everyday life.
The result, Samsung says, is a fusion of hardware and software expertly calibrated to protect users while on their phones.
The Privacy Display tech eliminates the need for such screen protectors; Samsung does it at the pixel level. More importantly, users can personalize the setting.
It can be toggled manually from the notification panel. Users can also activate it only for specific apps.
That means you can leave it off while watching YouTube, but turn it on automatically for banking apps, messages, or anything more sensitive.
This “anti-shoulder surfing” privacy feature was first teased ahead of the S26 series’ launch. Behind it is Samsung Display’s next-generation Flex Magic Pixel.
The panel-integrated privacy technology allows content to remain clear when viewed from the front, while appearing blurred or nearly invisible from side angles.
As per UL Solutions’ tests, the Samsung display had a side-to-front brightness ratio of 3.5% at a 45-degree side angle. It was reduced further to 0.9% or lower at 60 degrees.
Conventional smartphone panels typically maintain around 40% of their front-facing brightness when viewed from an angle. This makes on-screen content visible to others.

ITZY’s YUNA is Infinix’s first ever global brand ambassador
Infinix is in with YUNA in the scene
Infinix is entering a new era — and the brand is bringing one of K-Pop’s most sought-after stars along the ride.
A first for Infinix
In line with the launch of the latest NOTE 60 series, Infinix has also named YUNA of ITZY as its very first Global Brand Ambassador. The company calls this a bold step forward for both innovation and style.
For the record, this is the first time Infinix has tapped a global ambassador — and the choice makes sense. YUNA is known for her confidence, vibrant energy, and unapologetic self-expression. These qualities align closely with Infinix’s “Joy Tech, Beyond Limits” philosophy.
In a statement, YUNA shared her excitement about the partnership. She said she’s looking forward to connecting with fans in a new way and creating meaningful stories together with the brand.
For Infinix, this collaboration is more than just a celebrity endorsement. It signals a shift in how the company wants to position itself globally — not just as a smartphone maker, but as a lifestyle tech brand for expressive, tech-savvy youth.
The more, the merrier
The partnership goes along the debut of the NOTE 60 Series, further fueling Infinix’s move toward a more premium smartphone experience.
Like YUNA, the NOTE 60 line also brings notable names in the table:
- Powered by Snapdragon from Qualcomm
- Design collaboration with Pininfarina
- Audio tuned with JBL
It’s a clear attempt that Infinix wanted to elevate both performance and design by blending in flagship-level specs, more refined aesthetics, and immersive sound altogether.
Infinix says this launch also marks its expansion into more premium international markets.
With YUNA as the face of the brand, the company hopes to strengthen its appeal among younger users who want both powerful hardware and a device that matches their personality.
Rather than focusing purely on specs, Infinix is leaning into storytelling — highlighting how technology can spark creativity, joy, and individuality.
With the NOTE 60 Series and YUNA front and center, Infinix appears ready to redefine its brand identity on a global scale.
