Mag-Res TMR Sticks
Is Mag-Res better than Hall Effect? In a nutshell, yes. GameSir has constantly innovated on the tech they put on their controllers. We’ve been fortunate to bear witness to this throughout the years.
When they first added Hall Effect sticks, it was to address the Stick Drift issue. This significantly adds to the durability and lifespan of the controller.
By upgrading to the Mag-Res sticks, they retain that lifespan and durability while also lowering power consumption. That’s why despite the same battery capacity; the Cyclone 2 lasts longer than the Cyclone Pro on a single charge.
Does it feel different? The sticks feel extremely similar. They are responsive without feeling any sort of fear that there will be drift difficulties. In fact, we’ll go as far as to say that they feel nearly identical. The primary difference is really only the benefit of lower power consumption on the Mag-Res sticks.
Hall Effect triggers?
GameSir didn’t completely move on from Hall Effect tech. They’re still present on the triggers.
This is once again one of the things that mostly feels the same but with a new nifty trick. GameSir is getting really good at Micro Switch mechanics.
You know how other pro controllers have levers on the back to control how deep the trigger goes? The GameSir Cyclone 2 has something similar. However, instead of the levers that stick out, you need to press the M button along with either the Left or Right trigger to make the adjustment.
The shorter press distance is perfect for first-person shooter (FPS) games like Call of Duty Black OPS 6. It’s also great for certain action games that require a speedy reaction time.
There’s also a setting that goes a little deeper than the setting for FPS games but not quite as deep as the default settings. GameSir says this setting is perfect for racing games where there’s enough of a press to accelerate but not so much that it takes too long to do so.
Less rumble?
On paper, the Cyclone 2 has fewer rumble motors than the Cyclone Pro. Fret not as the motors still have more than enough power to shake the controller as you play.
In fact, it might be in your best interest to lower the rumble strength in game as these motors are pretty powerful.
While swinging around Manhattan and taking down street-level crime in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, you’ll find that the shake is even stronger than on the PS5.
You can adjust the rumble strength on the controller itself. Simply press the M button along with up or down to fine tune how strong you want the shake to be.
About Face (buttons)
Taking a cue from the recently released GameSir Tarantrula Pro, the Cyclone 2 also has interchangeable Face Buttons. You can go from the default Xbox layout or to the Swtich’s layout.
This is likely one of the reasons why it’s just the Cyclone 2 instead of the dual iterations from the previous generation that had the Cyclone Pro with Xbox default face buttons and the Cyclone with Switch default buttons. A boon for flexibility!
GameSir Connect Software
Full disclosure, we never touched this during our time with the controller. That’s simply because we never needed to. And we didn’t really know this existed prior to writing the article. We’ve been used to GameSir controllers providing most of the customization functions on the controller itself.
That said, if you want to really go granular with how the controller works, the GameSir Connect Software is the way to go. Here you can customize the lighting effects, the two mappable back buttons, and many, many more functions.
Is this your GadgetMatch?
The GameSir Cyclone 2 almost renders its predecessors obsolete. If you’re only getting a controller now for PC and every other platform that this supports, you might as well get the latest one.
The improvements, when listed down, feel marginal. However, this is a clear case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. The GameSir Cyclone 2 is an easy Swipe Right for anyone looking for a controller for multiple platforms. It just has a fantastic overall value.

Jackery SolarSaga series: Free power for small devices
Portable solar panels can charge small gadgets directly
As fuel prices continue to surge as of late, one of the ways to make up for the additional expenses is to turn to alternative power sources. That’s including solar power.
And Jackery is here to help Philippine consumers, with the availability of their portable SolarSaga panels.
These solar panels are an alternative to traditional and permanently installed rooftop solar panels. They are engineered for modern and mobile life with portable, lightweight, and sleek designs. They are built primarily to be set up and put away easily, and charge small devices directly.
Simply put the Jackery SolarSaga panels where sunlight is available, and it will convert up to 25% of sunlight into usable energy.
To charge small gadgets like phones and portable fans, or even smartwatches, the SolarSaga panels come with a USB-C and USB-A port.
Another way is connecting the SolarSaga to Jackery’s Explorer power stations like the Explorer 300 Plus or 1000 Plus.
From there, users can power up devices, essentially for free. On its own, the Jackery SolarSaga panels are available in 100W and 200W variants.
The panels are also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. This makes them usable outdoors when brought to adventures like camping, picnics, or beach trips.
The panels are already available through Jackery’s Lazada and Shopee platforms, as well as Techroom’s Lazada and Shopee accounts.

How extra are you as an Apple fan? No matter what you say, you’ll probably never be as extra as someone who buys a US$ 5,000 MagSafe charging case for their iPhone and Apple Watch. Hermès has just launched a series of leather chargers and cases specifically made for Apple fans.
Available now, Hermès has three types of MagSafe chargers for iPhone users. The cheapest one, the Paddock Solo, is a simple leather-bound puck that can charge a single device. The charger also has a braided 3.3ft USB cable. It costs an eye-watering US$ 1,250.
On the other hand, the Paddock Yoyo charger offers two charging zones for two devices simultaneously. Shaped like a yoyo (hence, the name), it allows users to roll the cable into a convenient stack. It costs US$ 1,750.
Finally, the Paddock Duo is a charging pad that allows for two devices simultaneously. It just doesn’t have a pocket for the cable. It likewise costs US$ 1,750.
Now, if you want to upgrade your pricey charging kit even further, Hermès has two cases for them: the Petit Paddock case and the Grand Paddock case.
The Petit Paddock case, as the name suggest, is a snug leather case that fits only the charger (and a brick, if bundled with the Yoyo). The charger and case combo will set you back by US$ 3,725 for the Solo, and US$ 4,225 for either the Duo or the Yoyo.
Alternatively, the Grand Paddock can fit much more but also costs a lot more. It costs US$ 4,650 for the Solo, and US$ 5,150 for the Duo or the Yoyo.
Of note, none of these come with a charging brick, so you’ll have to shell out a bit more to maximize the kit.
