GENTLE MONSTER Huawei Eyewear II — a premiere fashion meets tech wearable, is now officially in the Philippines.

A more comfortable and immersive wearing experience

The temples of GENTLE MONSTER Eyewear II is made of plastic titanium for lower density and lighter weight. This should guarantee a more comfortable wearing experience for the user. Meanwhile, Huawei constructed the temple hinges out of titanium elastic to increase the eyewear’s holding strength.

The eyewear also comes with a 20-degree curved earpiece angle, which is a huge improvement from its predecessor’s 12-degree angle.

Like before, the smart eyewear still includes a unique acoustic design that adapts to the user and their environment. Two semi-open speakers on both sides of the temples transmit sound directly through a directional chamber, reducing leakage and providing a stereo-like listening experience. To further reduce sound leakage, the temple features a leakage hole design that offset sound waves.

The eyewear also has an adaptive volume technology that can lower or raise the speaker volume accordingly depending on the surrounding noise.

Smarter eyewear features

The Gentle Monster Eyewear II also features updated gesture controls. Pairing the eyewear is much simpler now, with users only needing to pinch the left temple to start the process. Meanwhile, double-tapping on the left temple activates the eyewear’s voice assistant.

Swipe gestures are also included in the eyewear. A few swipes on the temples either play the next/previous song or raises/lower the eyewear’s volume.

Huawei rates the GENTLE MONSTER Eyewear II for five hours of continuous music playback. The eyewear improved upon its predecessor by bundling a new NFC wireless charging technology allowing quick and hassle-free charging anytime, anywhere.

Google I/O is officially confirmed for May 19

This week, Apple announced a major event to start March off on the right foot. Because of the odd timing, there’s a lot riding on the upcoming event. However, Google wants to a share in the spotlight. Not to be outdone, the company has just announced when the next Google I/O is happening.

As is tradition, Google has released puzzles to tease the date of the annual conference. This time, the company teased the conference with a series of Gemini-powered minigames. They had a golf minigame and a nonogram puzzle, among others. Once you’ve solved the puzzle, you would have known the date of Google I/O ahead of the official announcement.

Well, now that a lot of people got the chance to try the games for themselves, Google officially let the cat out of the bag. The official invite is out, and you don’t need to solve a puzzle to see it. Sundar Pichai has confirmed that this year’s Google I/O is happening from May 19 to 20.

Most announcements, especially the most major keynote one, will be available to watch online for free. The company will likely share what’s coming to Android. Also, because the gamified announcements were heavily based on Gemini, we’ll likely get a healthy dose of Gemini announcements, too.

The vivo V70 is set to release in the Philippines on February 28 with a Pop Mart ZSIGA Golden Hour colorway as part of a high-profile collaboration.

vivo says the exclusive design is inspired by warmth, self-expression, and modern lifestyle aesthetics. It draws inspiration from the glow of the setting sun while also aligning with ZSIGA’s “Under The Sun” series.

This collaboration explores the intersection of fashion, imaging, and personal identity. The partnership aims to connect the younger generation by blending creative storytelling with cutting-edge smartphone design.

vivo’s latest midrange device under the V series comes with a completely refreshed design. The manufacturer says the look balances elegance and durability, with an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy frame.

In addition, the camera module is crafted from metal material to elevate the phone’s premium feel. A matte black panel uses high-end glass as well for resistance to fingerprints and stains.

In front, the vivo V70’s display will feature just 1.25mm bezels for a more immersive viewing experience.

The current console generation is arguably a tepid one, especially compared to preceding generations. Though the PlayStation 5 certainly has its certified hits, it’s difficult to classify the home console as a quintessential piece of hardware that everyone must own. All eyes are now on what comes next, the PlayStation 6. However, because of an ongoing RAM shortage, those curious eyes might have to wait a little bit longer.

As you probably know, an ongoing RAM shortage is currently terrorizing the entire tech world. Upcoming devices are getting delayed, and currently available ones are expecting a price increase sometime this year. The unannounced PlayStation 6 is reportedly part of the first group.

According to Bloomberg, the shortage has pushed the projected release of the next console to 2028 or 2029. The delay is apparently disruptive to Sony’s plans.

There aren’t a lot of rumors swirling around the PlayStation 6 yet. However, the absence of news, coupled with anticipated titles like the remake of the God of War trilogy far off into the future, hints that PlayStation is waiting for the right time.

On the other hand, the same report claims that the Nintendo Switch 2 is part of the second group of RAM shortage victims. That is, Nintendo is reportedly considering a price hike for the currently available console this year.

To be clear, neither Nintendo nor Sony have confirmed anything happening to their respective consoles, current or otherwise. However, the shortage is a very real thing. Even if its effects aren’t readily felt now, it’s still expected to spread throughout the industry in the medium term.
