NVIDIA redesigns Titan Xp for Star Wars fans

Published

on

You have to admit: NVIDIA sure knows how to spice up an already drool-worthy graphics card.

For what I assume is a release in anticipation of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (coming out on December 15), NVIDIA’s new Star Wars-themed graphics cards are based on the flagship Titan Xp which launched last April.

You get to pick between two sides — either the Jedi Order or Galactic Empire. But no matter which version you choose, you’re going to get the same high-end specifications.

That means a Pascal architecture holding 3,840 CUDA cores running at 1.6GHz with 12 teraflops of power. You can also find 12GB of GDDR5X memory inside running at 11.4Gbps.

Although there’s no actual upgrade over the original Titan Xp, you can at least buy it for the same price of US$ 1,200. That’s still a crazy amount, but it’ll hopefully bring down the price of the reference model.

Pre-orders begin today, November 8. There’s a limit of only one unit per order, but that applies to each design, meaning you may have both in your possession at once — if you can afford them!
