OPPO F5 launches with near-borderless display and selfie AI
Chinese brand OPPO has quickly become one of the biggest brands in the smartphone arena following the release of their “Selfie Experts.”
In a time when bezel-less smartphones are all the rage, it only makes sense that the brand behind these selfie machines release a phone with a bigger screen — the better to see your photos with!
Following the widely successful F1 and the slew of devices that followed — the F1s, F3, and F3 Plus — OPPO launched the F5, a successor to these Selfie Experts, specifically designed to “Capture the real you.”
The F5, expected to be another selfie powerhouse, is OPPO’s first attempt at the bezel-less trend. The nearly borderless smartphone has a 6-inch screen and it’s their first device with a screen display ratio of 18:9.
While technically the successor to the F3, this new model is a whole new beast, updating both the software and hardware in multiple ways. On top of that tall and spacious display, the handset’s front-facing camera is equipped with artificial intelligence, another first from OPPO, to make sure you take only the best possible selfies.
The fingerprint scanner is now located on the phone’s back to make space for the taller screen and ensure minimal bezels. OPPO has made up for this, however, with a facial unlock feature to supplement existing security features.
Unlike previous generations of the F-series, a total of only two cameras are on the F5: one rear 16-megapixel camera and a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.
A MediaTek MT6763T processor powers the phone and it runs on Android 7.1 with OPPO’s ColorOS 3.2. It comes in three versions: an F5 with 4GB of memory, another F5 with 6GB of memory, and the more affordable F5 Youth. The storage and battery capacity are set at 32GB and 3200mAh, respectively.
At present, only the OPPO F5 is available in the Philippines. It’ll retail for PhP 15,990 (around US$ 305).

ITZY’s YUNA is Infinix’s first ever global brand ambassador
Infinix is in with YUNA in the scene
Infinix is entering a new era — and the brand is bringing one of K-Pop’s most sought-after stars along the ride.
A first for Infinix
In line with the launch of the latest NOTE 60 series, Infinix has also named YUNA of ITZY as its very first Global Brand Ambassador. The company calls this a bold step forward for both innovation and style.
For the record, this is the first time Infinix has tapped a global ambassador — and the choice makes sense. YUNA is known for her confidence, vibrant energy, and unapologetic self-expression. These qualities align closely with Infinix’s “Joy Tech, Beyond Limits” philosophy.
In a statement, YUNA shared her excitement about the partnership. She said she’s looking forward to connecting with fans in a new way and creating meaningful stories together with the brand.
For Infinix, this collaboration is more than just a celebrity endorsement. It signals a shift in how the company wants to position itself globally — not just as a smartphone maker, but as a lifestyle tech brand for expressive, tech-savvy youth.
The more, the merrier
The partnership goes along the debut of the NOTE 60 Series, further fueling Infinix’s move toward a more premium smartphone experience.
Like YUNA, the NOTE 60 line also brings notable names in the table:
- Powered by Snapdragon from Qualcomm
- Design collaboration with Pininfarina
- Audio tuned with JBL
It’s a clear attempt that Infinix wanted to elevate both performance and design by blending in flagship-level specs, more refined aesthetics, and immersive sound altogether.
Infinix says this launch also marks its expansion into more premium international markets.
With YUNA as the face of the brand, the company hopes to strengthen its appeal among younger users who want both powerful hardware and a device that matches their personality.
Rather than focusing purely on specs, Infinix is leaning into storytelling — highlighting how technology can spark creativity, joy, and individuality.
With the NOTE 60 Series and YUNA front and center, Infinix appears ready to redefine its brand identity on a global scale.

This popped right in time as BLACKPINK will hold the Hong Kong stop of their ‘DEADLINE’ tour for three straight days — from January 24 (Saturday) until January 26, 2026 (Monday).
Moreover, these might just be the perfect complement to the quatro’s upcoming ‘DEADLINE’ EP by February 27, 2026.
Might as well, an advanced 10th year anniversary gift this August 2026.
