Samsung Galaxy S8 takes top honors at MWC Shanghai 2017

In between all the interesting announcements, awards were given out during Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai this week, headlined by the Samsung Galaxy S8.
It was at the Asia Mobile Awards where GSMA announced the winners of several categories spanning mobile technology categories. While all of them have significant weight, it was Samsung’s pair of flagship smartphones that shined most.
Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ received the shared distinction of being the “Best Smartphone” since last year’s event at MWC. It’s an award well earned by the South Korean company, which went against all odds after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
The Galaxy S8 pair stand out with their near-bezel-free design, high-end hardware, and overall great performance. Sales have also been stellar this year, surpassing the numbers posted by the Galaxy S7 series of 2016.
