Confirmed: ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom coming at CES 2017

It seems like the leaks hold true: There really is a dual-camera-equipped ZenFone coming, and it’s arriving at CES 2017.
Earlier this month, Chinese certification agency TENAA revealed what appeared to be an ASUS ZenFone 3 with two cameras at the back. We instantly assumed this would be a Zoom variant of the current ZenFone line, and the direct successor to last year’s ZenFone Zoom.
Although we can’t confirm the final model name yet, the upcoming ZenFone is labelled as the ASUS_Z01HDA. But based on a teaser posted by ASUS itself on Twitter, all the details will definitely be revealed at CES 2017.

The Twitter account added some cryptic numbers to the caption. We’re assuming they reveal the zoom length, megapixels, and maximum aperture of the main cameras, but then they wouldn’t match what we know about the new ZenFone so far.
According to our previous story, the rear cameras will make use of 16 megapixels, while the front will have a 13-megapixel image sensor. Whichever information is more accurate, this will certainly be the best set of cameras on a ZenFone to date.
Other newsworthy specs are the possible 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and 4850mAh battery. Those would make the new ASUS more than just a camera-centric phone; it’ll have strong visuals and a long battery life, as well.
GadgetMatch will be in attendance at CES 2017 in early January, so we’ll have a firsthand look at the newest ZenFone 3 variant and its twins. Stay tuned!
