Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 drops September 29th

Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration in full swing

Capcom has announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025 that Free Title Update 3 for Monster Hunter Wilds is coming on Monday, September 29.

As teased back during gamescom 2025, the update will bring a variety of exciting new content, including the faraway realm of Eorzea from Final Fantasy XIV Online.

More details have been unveiled through this trailer:

The update brings Omega Frames, now called the Omega Planetes, to the Forbidden Lands. These can summon Nerscylla Clones through its Delta Attack.

And when they enter Pantokrator Mode, the Omega Planetes can unleash a barrage of powerful attacks, making them nearly unstoppable.

Additionally, Omega Micros generated by Omega Planetes relentlessly approach their target and detonate on impact for explosive damage.

It’s important to team up with other hunters and coordinate roles and strategies to conquer this formidable foe.

At Hunter Rank 41 or above, complete the mission “What Lies Ahead” and talk to Rove in the Iceshard Cliffs to unlock a special extra mission.

Dark Knight, Pictomancer

Moreover, the Dark Knight and Pictomancer will be making their debut in the world of Monster Hunter Wilds.

Collect materials from Omega Planetes to craft special hunter armor, Palico equipment, and secret adornments.

Equipping the Bale Armor α set will grant the set bonus skill, “Soul of the Dark Knight”. Activating this skill allows you to use the special action, “The Blackest Night”.

On the other hand, using the “Soul of the Pictomancer” allows hunters to cast pictomancy spells such as “Pom Motif”. Pictomancy spells are highly effective against monsters from FFXIV Online.

Furthermore, new mysterious lifeforms said to have wandered in the world of Eorzea will be seen.

Event quests

To top it all off, players can face Arch-tempered Nu Udra in a permanent event quest starting October 22. They should have at least HR100 to take on this challenge.

There’s also a free challenge quest on October 29 where this enemy will be available for a limited time.

Hunters can craft the Nu Udra γ armor series and Palico equipment. Event quests will offer materials to craft special equipment and Rare 8 Artian weapon parts.

Conquering quests will enable players to unlock nostalgic gestures as part of the free DLC. New quest completion animations will be available as well. The Cosmetic DLC Pack 3 will also let players add visual flair starting September 29.

A seasonal event, Festival of Accord: Dreamspell, will also envelope the Grand Hub with a strange, ominous flair from October 22 to November 12. There’s seasonal meals, special equipment, gestures, and pop-up camp decorations.

The Legend of Zelda film gets its first official photos

Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth play Zelda and Link, respectively.

The Legend of Zelda might be one of the hardest video games to adapt. After all, how do you write a script for a protagonist who never talks? But, by God, Nintendo is doing it anyway. Now, the company has released the first official images from the upcoming live action film’s production.

The upcoming Zelda film has had a long production cycle. First announced in 2023, it was only earlier this year when Nintendo put a date to the film’s premiere: March 26, 2027. Even now, we don’t know much about the film.

Over the weekend, unofficial photos showed that product started its filming in New Zealand. Unofficial photos don’t really mean much except for those who hang around the rumor mill, but they can spiral towards those excited for the film’s release. To get ahead of the rumors, Nintendo released official photos, over the Nintendo Today app, which show both Link and Princess Zelda.

Notably, Zelda, the archetypal princess in distress, isn’t wearing her usual princess’s garb. Rather, she’s wearing the blue gear from the Breath of the Wild duology, where the princess had a more active role in saving Hyrule. Bo Bragason, who plays the princess, will likely take on a more front-and-center role.

Link, played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, is wearing his more traditional green clothing from the past games. Though the film looks like it’s adapting the most recent duology, it might be an entirely different story, based on Link’s different clothes.

Anno 117: Pax Romana is available now for PC, consoles

Published

As we discovered during a preview of the game, Anno 117 might be one of the coziest strategic simulators today. The new title does away with the intensity of pure combat to have players build up their version of Rome as an inexperienced politician thrust into the role of a Roman governor. Now, after the brief preview period, Anno 117: Pax Romana is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

While other simulators might have its players build an army to overwhelm everyone by force, Anno 117 has players build up their corner of Rome from the ground up.

For both beginners and veterans of the series, the game has a lengthy campaign mode to teach players the ropes of the new title. Specifically, the campaign features two character paths: Marcus — a young man desperately trying to earn his place in the aristocracy — and Marcia — Marcus’s sister who wants to prove that women can also forge their destiny in Rome.

Otherwise, the title also has a sandbox mode that has player pick between two starting areas. Latium is a safer option that offers safety near the heart of the Roman Empire. Meanwhile, Albion is a wilder province that provides seasoned players with more challenges.

The Standard Edition of the game is already available on Steam, Ubisoft Connect, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

On the other hand, the Gold Edition bundles the base game with the Year 1 Pass. This Pass includes three DLCs coming down the line: Prophecies of Ash, The Hippodrome, and Dawn of the Delta.

Red Dead Redemption is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2

The game is also coming to mobile and Netflix.

Ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games is giving the original Red Dead Redemption some time under the spotlight with newer machinery. The studio previously launched a remastered version for the PC, finally breaking its exclusivity to older consoles. Now, in less than a month, the gunslinging RPG is coming to even more modern consoles.

Red Dead Redemption is seen as one of the most important RPGs in history. Besides its tragic story, the game introduced Rockstar’s iconic open-world formula to a setting that, at the time, hadn’t been portrayed adequately in games. The series has since spawned an equally impressive sequel for the PlayStation 4 generation.

On December 2, Rockstar Games is bringing the original Red Dead Redemption, along with spinoff DLC Undead Nightmare, to more consoles. After beginning its remastered stint for PC, the game is now coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices.

The version for modern consoles will get the same 60fps treatment as its counterpart on PC. It will also support HDR. Meanwhile, the Switch 2 version gets support for DLSS and mouse controls.

Importantly, those who already own the original game on older consoles (via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch) will get a free upgrade to the remastered version.

For mobile, the game will have an ergonomic control system. Also, Netflix subscribers will get the game for free with their subscription.

If you have yet to play one of the most important titles of the past two decades, now is your chance to enjoy the experience on newer hardware.
