Nike showcases the Air Max Spring 2021 collection

Looking fancy~

Nike Air is popular for a reason. It’s an ever-evolving platform with a design worth celebrating whether you’re a sneakerhead or an average user. This year, Nike decks out the Air Max Spring 2021 collection with three key silhouettes: the Air Max 2090 EOI, the Air Max Viva, and the VaporMax Evo.

First in the lineup is the Air Max 2090 EOI (Evolution of Icons), taking inspiration from classic Air Max’s shoes. The hybrid subtly incorporated details from Air Max 90, Air Max 180, and the Air Max BW.

Meanwhile, the Air Max Viva follows recursive developments of specific women’s Air Max models. The Viva included a cushioned midsole and a magnified Air Max Unit in the heel. Also, it comes with two laces for styling — a speckled midsole and a two-tone rubber outsole — complementing its leather, closed mesh, and nubuck detailing.

On the other hand, the VaporMax Evo explores a bolder style for the VaporMax. When you look closely, the silhouette actually fused details from classics like the Air Max 90, Air Max 93, and the Air Max Plus.

Price and availability

The Air Max Spring Collection 2021 will be available throughout Spring 2021. (Obviously?!)

  • Air Max 2090 EOI — PhP 8,295
  • Air Max Viva — PhP 7,345
  • VaporMax Evo — PhP 10,545

Apple’s new iPhone Pocket is a stylish way to carry your iPhone

This time, woven into the fabric of a modern accessory

Decades after dressing Steve Jobs, Issey Miyake’s legacy returns to Apple

Fashion meets tech — again.

Apple’s latest creation isn’t a new iPhone, but something to wear it in. Announced today, the iPhone Pocket is a collaboration between Apple and Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE, reimagining the way we carry one of the world’s most recognizable devices.

While this is the first official partnership between the two brands, Miyake’s influence has long been stitched into Apple’s story.

The minimalist yet iconic uniform that is Steve Jobs’ black turtlenecks were custom-made by Miyake himself.

Back in the 1980s, Jobs even approached Miyake with an idea: to design a uniform for Apple employees. That plan never took off, but decades later, the spirit of collaboration finds new form — not in a shirt, but in a beautifully woven accessory.

The iPhone Pocket draws inspiration from Miyake’s Pleats Please and Homme Plissé lines, famed for its permanently pleated, wrinkle-free designs.

Made in Japan, and co-designed with the Apple Design Studio, each bag is crafted from a single piece of innovative 3D-knit fabric that’s both stretchy and feather-light. It’s designed to fit any iPhone and, as Apple notes, “other pocketable items.”

Available in two strap lengths, it can be worn as a shoulder bag (or slung on an arm) or crossbody. The color palette is distinctly Miyake: lemon (neon yellow), mandarin (bright orange), purple, pink, peacock (turquoise), sapphire (rich blue), cinnamon (brown), and black.

Longtime fans might also feel a nostalgic nod to the iPod Socks — a whimsical early-2000s Apple accessory that turned practicality into playful design.

The iPhone Pocket launches Friday, November 14, as a limited release, available online and in select Apple Stores.

In New York, it makes its debut in SoHo which is Apple’s outpost in the city’s fashion district.  Prices start at $149.95 for the short strap and $229.95 for the long strap.

Laifen

Laifen, the global brand known for precision engineering and minimalist design, is officially entering the Philippine market with a full lineup of high-speed, smart hair dryers built for everyday use.

Designed for people who want salon-level styling without the fuss, Laifen’s tools promise faster drying, safer heat control, and smoother finishes — whether you’re getting ready for work, heading out for dinner, or squeezing in a quick refresh between errands.

Since launching in 2019, Laifen has focused on creating efficient, design-led haircare tools that work for real life. Its devices have already reached more than 20 million users worldwide as of early 2025.

Now, Filipinos can finally experience the brand’s signature blend of power and care. Every model arriving locally comes equipped with smart heat monitoring and strong airflow, offering a balance of speed and protection for daily styling.

Compact, maximum performance: Laifen Mini

The Laifen Mini shows that a compact dryer doesn’t have to compromise on power. It runs on a next-gen 110,000 RPM motor that delivers fast drying while staying surprisingly quiet at just 61 dB.

Weighing only 299 grams (without nozzle and cord), it’s light enough for travel yet comfortable for full styling routines. Its Smart Temperature Control checks heat 100 times per second to protect hair, while a built-in Negative Ion Generator helps boost shine and reduce frizz.

There’s also a Child Mode for gentler drying sessions. Made from high-grade nylon with 30% fiberglass and a dual-layer magnetic filter, the Mini combines durability with hair-friendly tech.

The Laifen Mini retails for P5,799 SRP, but early shoppers can get it for P3,599 on Laifen’s official Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok stores. Available in Green, Blue, and White.

Precision meets power: Laifen SE 2

The Laifen SE 2 builds on the strengths of its predecessor with even better performance for users who want more control when styling. Its 108,000 RPM motor pushes out 21.5 m/s airflow for quick, efficient drying.

Users can fine-tune their routine with 10 styling combinations: 2 airflow levels and 5 temperature settings. Heat is regulated 80 times per second to prevent damage, while its six-layer noise reduction system keeps sound levels at just 59 dB.

The Laifen SE 2 comes in White with an SRP of P7,499, now available at a limited-time price of P4,499 on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.

Look good, spend less: Laifen SE Lite

The Laifen SE Lite proves that affordability can still feel premium. It’s lighter, shorter, and easier to handle than the SE, with a balanced body designed for longer sessions.

Its high-speed drying system saves time, while 150 million negative ions help cut down frizz and leave hair smoother. A six-layer noise reduction setup brings sound down to a calm 62 dB, and Smart Temperature Control — adjusting heat 50 times per second — helps protect hair from damage.

Available in Tan, Pink, and Purple, the SE Lite retails for P3,799 and can be purchased for as low as P1,999 during the launch period on Laifen’s official social commerce platforms.

Laifen’s debut lineup is now available nationwide and online via Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok. Early buyers can enjoy limited-time discounts plus a free comb while stocks last. A special launch bundle is also available: purchase the Laifen SE 2 or Laifen SE Lite and get 50% off a waterproof bag. New followers can also redeem a P100 OFF voucher for additional savings.

If you want, I can convert this into strict N1 format, tighten the lifestyle tone further, or adjust the length.

Match Pulse: QCY Crossky C50

Premium clip-on earbuds at a reasonable price

There’s a certain freedom that comes with not having to fuss over your earbuds.

The QCY Crossky C50 was built for people who move fast, whether that means sprinting through morning commutes, breezing through workouts, or slipping between errands.

With its open-ear clip-on design, this budget-friendly pair promises all-day comfort and practicality without sacrificing sound.

First Look

Style-wise, QCY pretty much nailed it with this clip-on iteration. The C50 launched in a clean, minimalist off-white finish with some leather-style textured panels — looking more expensive than its price tag.

Comfort-wise, the C50 features skin-friendly silicone combined with a memory titanium wire for a secure but pressure-free fit. Pop them on, and if you’re not listening to anything, you might even forget they’re there.

Seamless touch controls and dual-device connectivity powered by the latest Bluetooth 6.0 technology round out the package.

Although if you are new to clip-ons, coming from the traditional earbuds, finding the right tapping angle might take a little getting used to.

Thankfully, the QCY app lets you customize or even disable one-tap and double-tap gestures if you find yourself triggering them accidentally.

First Date

For an open-ear clip-on, the Crossky C50 puts up a competitive sound profile.

The bass has a solid punch without getting muddy, and doesn’t bleed into the vocals. The mids sound natural, with instruments sitting comfortably in the mix without drowning out the song.

And more importantly, the highs are clear and never goes into the harshness zone. Since this is an open-ear style, you’ll often need to push the volume higher depending on your environment.

The QCY app doesn’t offer a fully customizable EQ but does include preset “effects” like Pop, Bass Boost, Rock, and more; most of which don’t improve sound quality, except for Spatial Sound.

When enabled, Spatial Sound gives the illusion of a wider soundstage. Overall, it works pretty well but the vocals can take on a slightly echoey quality. Although not distracting enough to ruin the experience, it is definitely noticeable.

A single charge lasts a full workday. Give it just 10 minutes of juice, and you’re good to go for that two-hour commute home.

With up to 7.5 hours of listening per charge and 35 hours with the case, the C50 easily keeps pace with long days. The IPX5 water resistance also means it’s safe against sweat and light rain, making it a solid companion for both workouts and commutes.

First Impressions

With numerous open-ear and clip-on style earbuds available on the market, what sets the Crossky C50 apart is its magnetic contact self-adaptive technology and symmetrical cavity design.

Which means there is no fixed left or right earbud. Drop a bud into either side of the case, and the magnets instantly detect its position, remapping it automatically without needing to close the lid.

Thanks to the symmetrical design of both the case and the earbuds, you get so much convenience when you’re in a rush — or lazy. It’s super easy to pop them in your ears or drop them back into the case without fussing over which side is which.

The Crossky C50 nails that balanced mix of comfort, control, and value. It’s a strong entry point into that all-day, stay-aware listening experience. Plus, it’s only US$ 35.
