Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is looking great in leaked renders

Published

Xiaomi’s Mi Mix set the standard for how slim bezels can be for modern smartphones. If leaked renders of the Mi Mix 2 are anything to go by, we may be in for an even more borderless future.

Uploaded on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the images reveal a curvier, nearly all-screen front for Xiaomi’s next flagship:

Although we can’t confirm if these are truly legit, they do match up well to what’s shown on Xiaomi’s official invite sent last week.

Rumored specifications are said to include Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 835 processor, at least 6GB of memory to match last year’s model, and a battery capacity north of 4000mAh.

It won’t take much longer before we learn about all its features; the official launch is currently set for September 11 — less than a week to go!

Anno 117: Pax Romana is available now for PC, consoles

Published

on

As we discovered during a preview of the game, Anno 117 might be one of the coziest strategic simulators today. The new title does away with the intensity of pure combat to have players build up their version of Rome as an inexperienced politician thrust into the role of a Roman governor. Now, after the brief preview period, Anno 117: Pax Romana is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

While other simulators might have its players build an army to overwhelm everyone by force, Anno 117 has players build up their corner of Rome from the ground up.

For both beginners and veterans of the series, the game has a lengthy campaign mode to teach players the ropes of the new title. Specifically, the campaign features two character paths: Marcus — a young man desperately trying to earn his place in the aristocracy — and Marcia — Marcus’s sister who wants to prove that women can also forge their destiny in Rome.

Otherwise, the title also has a sandbox mode that has player pick between two starting areas. Latium is a safer option that offers safety near the heart of the Roman Empire. Meanwhile, Albion is a wilder province that provides seasoned players with more challenges.

The Standard Edition of the game is already available on Steam, Ubisoft Connect, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

On the other hand, the Gold Edition bundles the base game with the Year 1 Pass. This Pass includes three DLCs coming down the line: Prophecies of Ash, The Hippodrome, and Dawn of the Delta.

Red Dead Redemption is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2

The game is also coming to mobile and Netflix.

Ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games is giving the original Red Dead Redemption some time under the spotlight with newer machinery. The studio previously launched a remastered version for the PC, finally breaking its exclusivity to older consoles. Now, in less than a month, the gunslinging RPG is coming to even more modern consoles.

Red Dead Redemption is seen as one of the most important RPGs in history. Besides its tragic story, the game introduced Rockstar’s iconic open-world formula to a setting that, at the time, hadn’t been portrayed adequately in games. The series has since spawned an equally impressive sequel for the PlayStation 4 generation.

On December 2, Rockstar Games is bringing the original Red Dead Redemption, along with spinoff DLC Undead Nightmare, to more consoles. After beginning its remastered stint for PC, the game is now coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices.

The version for modern consoles will get the same 60fps treatment as its counterpart on PC. It will also support HDR. Meanwhile, the Switch 2 version gets support for DLSS and mouse controls.

Importantly, those who already own the original game on older consoles (via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch) will get a free upgrade to the remastered version.

For mobile, the game will have an ergonomic control system. Also, Netflix subscribers will get the game for free with their subscription.

If you have yet to play one of the most important titles of the past two decades, now is your chance to enjoy the experience on newer hardware.

Horizon Steel Frontiers is an MMO set in the Horizon universe

The game is built for mobile but will have cross-play gameplay with PC.

A few months ago, Sony sued Tencent for copying design elements from the Horizon series for the latter’s upcoming game, Light of Motiram. Though the game has been relatively silent since the kerfuffle, was Tencent on to something? Today, Sony and a Korean studio named NCSoft have officially announced Horizon Steel Frontiers, an MMO set in the Horizon universe.

It’s not just a simple announcement either. The title now has an official 10-minute video to preview the upcoming title. Right now, the trailer has nothing but cinematics, pre-alpha footage, and developer interviews. However, it’s a clear commitment to bringing the MMO to life.

Both the cinematics and the pre-alpha footage show off the familiar mechanical beasts of the series. The main goal of the title is to team up with other players and take down colossal beasts.

The game is set in the Deathlands, a new region inspired by Arizona and New Mexico. Players will have the entire state to play with. And, instead of Aloy, they can create their own personalized characters.

Horizon Steel Frontiers is built for smartphones. However, Sony and NCSoft are working towards cross-platform gameplay for the PC.

Right now, especially since the released footage is from pre-alpha development, we don’t know when the MMO will launch. However, it does look extremely exciting for fans of the original duology.
