Five flagships will come with Snapdragon 875 early next year
And with 100W wired charging
Next month, Qualcomm is unveiling its flagship processor series for next year. The upcoming Snapdragon 875 series will eventually fuel the next generation of smartphones starting next year. Because of the timing, we have only a slight idea of which smartphones will ship with the new chipset. Now, we might know how many smartphones will come with it. According to a leak, five flagships will come with Snapdragon 875 and 100W charging early next year.
Recently, renowned leaker Digital Chat Station leaked the number on Weibo. For the first three months of 2021, five flagship smartphones will have the new hardware. The specific brands and models are still a mystery, though.
Realistically, the first smartphone on the list is likely Samsung’s upcoming flagship series, the Galaxy S21 series. Other than the several Galaxy S21 device, the rest are more enigmatic. If it’s any hint, both Xiaomi and OnePlus are also expected to launch flagships early next year.
Not much else is known about the Snapdragon 875 at this point. However, leaks of other chipsets have hinted at Qualcomm’s performance this year. Particularly, the upcoming Exynos 2100 will reportedly perform a lot better than the Snapdragon 875. At this point, a lot of things can happen between now and next year’s first Snapdragon 875 smartphone.
