Leave it to Nintendo to make the announcements that are worthy of closing the pre-E3 keynotes.

During Nintendo’s keynote, the company announced that a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is in the works. A trailer was provided but didn’t show anything in terms of gameplay.

Instead, we see main characters Link and Zelda exploring a cave, seemingly continuing where they left off from the first game, and finding a ghastly corpse that awakens.

Breath of the Wild is considered by many to be the best game on the Switch (along with Super Mario Odyssey), as well as the highest-rated entry in the long-running series, so any mention of a sequel is fantastic news.

Sadly, Nintendo didn’t provide a release date or any other details. All we know for sure is that this will be another Switch-exclusive.

At long last, Final Fantasy VIII is releasing on newer consoles. It had been notably absent when Square Enix launched fellow FF-series games lately. Somehow, they got their shit together for this.

Unfortunately, it isn’t a remake like what we’re getting out of Final Fantasy VII for the PS4. Rather, this is only a remaster of the classic PlayStation title with the same gameplay mechanics and slightly improved graphics.

“Coming 2019” is all we have for a release schedule. The good news is we’ll see it on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Steam — no mobile version, however. Previously, a vanilla version of FFVIII arrived on PC in late 2013.

For context, the original game came out in 1999. It’s time for younger millennials to get a taste of emo protagonists from the 90s.

Pre-E3 2019 festivities are on their way, and what a way for Bethesda to make an entrance. Earlier at their E3 Showcase, the developer that brought you DOOM and Fallout dropped a bombshell lineup of new titles for the rest of the year.

Previous reports hinted at news on the much-anticipated DOOM: Eternal, but they had much more planned for you this year.

The first new title announced is Ghostwire: Tokyo. Set in the streets of Tokyo, Japan, Ghostwire serves as a paranormal action-adventure game. It delves into the mysterious disappearances of thousands of people in the city.

According to Tango Gameworks’ Creative Director Ikumi Nakamura, players will experience an occult-esque environment. You will encounter various human and paranormal NPCs, all while cracking down on conspiracy theories and legends.

Next on the list isn’t really a new title, but a remaster of a classic 90s game. Kira Schlitt of ZeniMax Online Studios eases in a full blown remaster of ID Software’s classic, Commander Keen for mobile platforms. It follows the story of Billy and his twin sister Billie in a intergalactic adventure.

Fit for those who enjoy the cartoon vibe, Commander Keen presents a variety of gadgets and gizmos that the heroes will use. The game will come with its own Story Mode and a real-time Battle Mode against other players. The game will have a soft launch later this summer.

Wolfenstein fans, rejoice! Apart from revealing a VR version of the popular Nazi-annihilation title called Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot, Machine Games also unveiled a brand new game under the franchise. Set in 1980s Nazi-occupied Paris, Wolfenstein: Youngblood focuses on two Nazi killing machines who were separated from their father.

In a rescue mission for the ages, players now have a chance to play in a cooperative environment — one of the new features of Youngblood. This means that unlike its original title, players can now go into Nazi killing sprees with a friend or partner. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 26. 2019.

The next new title is Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop. It takes you to the lawless island of Blackreef, a place that knows no death. In this game, players choose between two master assassins in a quest to stop the loop once and for all.

The developers that brought you Dishonored mixes stunning visuals with immersive gameplay in their latest creation. The mechanic is pretty simple: players are put in an endless loop of dying. It is entirely up to you on how you approach the battlefield.

And perhaps the most hyped and anticipated title to dawn Bethesda is DOOM: Eternal, the sequel to their beloved 2016 title. It takes the same mechanics and storytelling of the DOOM franchise, but takes it on a multidimensional course.

Bethesda went all out with bringing the best possible gaming experience to old and new DOOM players. Early gameplay footage showed a variety of features for combat and arsenal for DOOM Slayer. The game is expected for release on November 22, 2019, along with a Collector’s Edition.
