Apple iPhone XS cruises to top of AnTuTu benchmark ranking

Leaving everyone else in its dust

Published

Benchmark scores haven’t been as vital in choosing the best and fastest smartphones as they once were. Nowadays, consumers prefer looking at the overall experience and how fluid the interface feels to them. And yet, there are moments when these numbers provide an early glimpse at just how fast a new phone could be.

That’s the case for the newly released iPhone XS, whose AnTuTu benchmark score has recently been revealed by the software maker itself through Chinese website Weibo.

With a score of 363,525, the new iPhone crushes the competition. For comparison, Xiaomi’s Black Shark was the top scorer with a total of 292,887, based on AnTuTu’s overall ranking from last month.

This means Apple’s new A12 Bionic chipset is an absolute beast in terms of raw performance. Not only does it beat the A11 Bionic of the iPhone X, which scored 233,698 on AnTuTu, it surpasses any Snapdragon 845-equipped Android available today.

We’re still working on our own iPhone XS review, but early signs show that it’s the smoothest and most responsive smartphone to date.

Huawei has its flagship Mate 20 series arriving soon, equipped with the recently unveiled Kirin 980 chipset. We’ll have to wait and see if it’ll be good enough to unseat all these new threats.

The Nike React Infinity Run will keep you running

New tech for injury prevention

Published

on

Nike is introducing a new cushioning tech that’s meant to help prevent injuries among runners – it’s called the Nike React Infinity Run.

The new cushion is inspired by two of Nike’s previous innovation. First is the Zoom Vaporfly 4% introduced in 2017 — something that many runners were happy about. Not long after, the company introduced the Nike React which focused on giving the runner an energy return. This while remaining soft, resilient, lightweight and durable.

The Nike React Infinity Run combines the best of both tech. Nike React’s energy return on a wider platform and a widened midsole promises to be the answer to less injuries.

Here’s how it works: The Infinity’s rocker-geometry encourages a slight lean forward, moving a runner’s foot strike from heel to midfoot or even forefoot. What that does is create a natural forward feel of propulsion.

The wider platform as well as the supportive foam that accompanies it provides a reassuring feel. The shoe then gently guides the foot in a smooth, straight line, reducing side-to-side wobbling and movement.

Pricing and availability

The Nike React Infinity Run is available at US$ 160 in the US. In the Philippines, it will retail for PhP 8095 and will be exclusively available on January 23 for Nike Members at Nike Park Mall Of Asia opening. Its retail launch is set on January 30, 2020.
